Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Islam Makhacevov (ranked 6939 p4p, 0 weight class) and Usain Thunder (ranked 6143 p4p, 0 weight class). Well, I have no idea who's going to take this one!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 2 - 1, fighting out of St Petersburg, Islam Makhacevov!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Usain Thunder!
The judges for this bout are Fedor Mirinova, Vladimir Khabensky and Sergei Dronov.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Makhacevov misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out.
Islam Makhacevov seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Thunder misses with a few strikes there.
Makhacevov shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it.

Thunder gets caught on his heels momentarily as he allows Makhacevov to score an easy takedown into full guard.
Makhacevov lands a couple of decent looking shots.
Makhacevov throwing strikes but missing.

Thunder working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Makhacevov doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Makhacevov manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.

Makhacevov got a little sloppy there for a moment and Thunder has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Makhacevov has managed to get both his arms back between Thunder's legs - danger averted.

Makhacevov seems content to control from guard here. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up.

Thunder is looking for a triangle here but Makhacevov uses the submission attempt to pass into side control.

We're hearing some news coming in from back stage. It's official - Thunder has eaten all the pies!

The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business. This is the final round!


Makhacevov fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt.
Thunder drops down looking to force a counter takedown but Makhacevov defends it well.

Thunder dives in and grabs Makhacevov's left leg, looking for a takedown. Makhacevov pushes down on Thunder's head and hops out.

Makhacevov feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.
