The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
A telegraphed takedown attempt from Knapp is defended easily by Lane.
Lane throws a couple of head shots and lands with the final one - a decent hook, which struck Knapp on the side of the head.
Knapp is pinned up against the cage taking some big shots here. The referee is looking closely deciding whether he should stop the fight.

Lane lands the left hand.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Lane lands a jab.
Lane throws a combination that misses

and Knapp counters by moving into the clinch.
A real battle for position is taking place between these two warriors.
Knapp keeps the fight in the clinch, despite Lane's efforts to push away.

Lane pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.

Lane throws a leg kick but Knapp sees it coming and checks it nicely.
Knapp dodges the punch combination from Lane.
Lane misses with a wild body shot.
As Lane looks to move away, Knapp throws a big counter combo but Lane just gets out of the way.
Lane changes levels and scores with a jab to the body.
Knapp takes a solid shot to the body. That one hurt him but he's trying not to show it.
Lane misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.
Lane connects with a body shot.
Knapp walks into a straight right hand from Lane.
Knapp moves in looking to clinch but Lane pushes him off.
Lane fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.
Knapp steps to the side to avoid the strikes from Lane.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Lane throws a sloppy head kick and Knapp moves out of range easily.
Oh Knapp is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!
Knapp drops his hands for a split second and Lane immediately capitalizes on the opportunity by smashing a powerful hook into Knapp face, sending his mouthguard sailing through the air, much to the delight of the crowd. Lane follows up with a right hand that knocks Knapp into next week. He's out cold and this fight is over!
