Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Duke Bravo (ranked 3197 p4p, 0 weight class) and Junior Reed (ranked 4779 p4p, 0 weight class). Junior Reed will no doubt be looking to use his reach advantage to good effect.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Duke Bravo!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Junior Reed!
The judges for this bout are David Hoff, Michael Johnstone and Santiago Holmes.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Reed with a lazy takedown attempt

and Bravo counters with a nice double leg into guard.

Reed manages to escape and get back to his feet.
Bravo looks exhausted already! Oh dear, he should have come in in better shape than this!
Reed shoots in and drives through. Bravo sprawls well.
Bravo seem to be loading up, looking for a big counter.
Bravo keeps the fight on the outside.
Reed misses with a takedown attempt - Bravo sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses.
Duke Bravo has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Junior Reed.

Reed looking to shoot here. He's gone for it and he's landed a takedown into side control! Oh, that's bad for Bravo!
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Bravo defending against the ground and pound.
Reed trying to control the position but Bravo is working away.
Reed is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.

Reed laying and praying for a moment but Bravo takes advantage and regains half guard.
Bravo might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.
Reed throwing shots but they're hitting the canvas more than the man.
Reed is trying to control. Bravo wants to improve his position but can't escape this time.
Reed is just sitting in half guard, waiting for something to happen.
Reed thows a wild elbow that connects with the canvas.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd.
Bravo is looking for a sweep. Reed is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.
Reed stalling.
The referee claps his hands together and tells the fighters to work.

Reed is working for a kimura but Bravo is defending it quite comfortably.

The ref stands the fighters back up due to a lack of activity.
A thudding body kick lands there by Reed!

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Bravo stuffs the takedown.
Reed tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Bravo paws at him with a jab and circles away.
Bravo is trying to close the distance and clinch up, after that failed offence from Reed.

Reed shoots in and bounces Bravo off the cage to secure the takedown into guard.

Bravo is edging up against the cage. He's using the cage to get back to his feet. Nice work there - the fighters are clinched.

Bravo pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.
Bravo avoids the clinch attempt nicely.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Bravo displaying good standup as he scores with a three punch combination.
Reed throws a right high kick that is partially blocked by Bravo.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.

Bravo instigates a clinch.
Reed tries to break the clinch but Bravo is controlling the position.

Bravo has moved round to his opponent's back and is looking for a suplex! Oh snap! He's tossed Reed clear over his head and slammed him to the mat!

Reed manages to stand up with Bravo still on his back. Eventually Bravo drops to his feet and we're back in the standing position.

Bravo rushes Reed and presses him up against the cage.

Reed breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That was a close round but I would say that Duke Bravo will probably get the nod.
OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action.


Reed misses with a body kick.
Reed shoots for a double leg takedown but Bravo sprawls well. He's pushed Reed's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.

Bravo has Reed up against the cage in a clinch.
Reed's corner are urging him to control the action in the clinch for a moment, rather than mount any serious offense. I'm sure the crowd appreciate those instructions... not.

Reed decides to pull guard.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Bravo in full guard, throwing the ground and pound. No damage this time.
Bravo won't allow Reed to get back to his feet.
Reed wants to control here, rather than go for any submissions from the bottom. At least for now.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
Reed tries to land a sweep but no joy.

Reed kicks Bravo off and gets to his feet.
Junior Reed seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Reed misses with a few strikes there.
Bravo is trying to close the distance and clinch up, after that failed offence from Reed.

Bravo closes the distance and scores a nice trip takedown into half guard. Reed did well to prevent Bravo getting side control.

Reed is defending against the submission attempts here by Bravo.

Bravo stands up from half guard... He's had enough of that ground malarky for the time being.
Nice takedown defense from Bravo. No joy for Reed on that attempt.

Reed shoots and misses

and Bravo holds on and brings the fighters into a clinch.
Duke Bravo has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Junior Reed.
Bravo just leaning against Reed, taking a breather.
Bravo displaying some good clinch control by pressing Reed up against the cage.
Reed is trying to drag Bravo to the mat but Bravo just about manages to keep his footing. He used the cage to his advantage there.
Reed is trying to pull guard but Bravo turns him against the cage and we stay in the clinch.

Bravo tightens his grip and picks Reed up, before dumping him to the ground. Reed manages to land in guard.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Reed seems keen to control Bravo's posture.

Bravo stopping the sweep attempt from Reed.
Bravo scores with a decent looking elbow strike.
Bravo postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect.
Bravo tries to free his leg and advance position but Reed is retaining full guard.
Reed is pulling down on Bravo's head to control his posture.
Bravo stands up over Reed, holding his feet. He dives back in and lands a decent shot to the head.
Junior Reed has got the better of the ground game so far.
Reed is looking to stand up but Bravo isn't so interested in that idea.
Bravo sneaks a leg through and gets to half guard. That was like a knife through butter how easily he passed Reed's guard.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.
Bravo is looking to advance position but Reed won't allow it.
Reed trying to control from the bottom.
The two fighters exchange a few words. I couldn't hear what they were saying but maybe it's more fun if you make it up yourself. Bravo connects with a nice short shot to Reed's temple.
Bravo works his foot free and advances to mount.
Bravo is still in mount, landing shots to his trapped opponent. Reed can't stay in a position like this for much longer.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
Bravo controlling from the full mount.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Duke Bravo dominated that second round.
The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action! So, we enter the final round. Let's see if either fighter can bring us a finish, or whether we're going to the judges scorecards.


Reed misses with a takedown

and Bravo counters by moving into the clinch. Good anticipation by Bravo.
Reed has hold of a leg and is looking for a trip takedown. Bravo avoids it nicely though and we remain in the clinch.

Bravo manages to pull guard.
Reed wants to control from the top but Bravo keeps moving.

Reed fails with an attempt to clinch.

Reed shoots in for a takedown and gets it.

Bravo kicks Reed off and gets back to his feet.

Reed gets tackled into the cage by Bravo. Bravo maintains the clinch.
Reed is looking for a takedown.
Duke Bravo has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Junior Reed.
Bravo stalling here - the referee won't stand for too much of that.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Reed fails to pull guard.

Bravo breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.
Bravo misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
Bravo looks to have improved his striking defense since last time we saw him fight.
Reed shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Bravo as he avoids it easily.
This has been an exciting period of action!

Reed closes this distance looking for a takedown but Bravo circles away.
Bravo seem to be loading up, looking for a big counter.
Reed misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.

Bravo gets taken down but at least he's managed to land in guard.

Bravo scrambles and gets back to his feet.

Bravo closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth.
Reed can't do much from the bottom here.
Bravo landing a few strikes.

Bravo looking for an arm triangle but it's way too loose to do anything.
Bravo moves into full mount!

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Bravo controlling his opponent.
Bravo dominating with strikes here.
Bravo working away from the top, dropping strikes.
Bravo lands an elbow that was bordering on illegal but the referee lets it go with a warning.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Reed tries to lock up and control but Bravo gives him a forearm to the face and pushes him away.
Bravo cracks Reed with a nasty head shot there - the crowd let out an audible gasp there, as the noise reverberated around the arena.
Junior Reed has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!
Duke Bravo is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach.
Bravo sitting in mount, just looking to control for the moment.

And that's the end of the fight!
Duke Bravo showed his dominance in that final round.
Well Bravo has outscored his opponent in every aspect of the fight today. Only a scarily incompetent judge or two will keep him from a well deserved win... Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
