Biernat has chosen Someday as his entrance music. Spas Spasov had a look across the cage there at his opponent. He definitely means business

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Spasov misses with an uppercut. Biernat saw that one coming.
Spasov tries to clinch there but Biernat circles away.
Spasov misses with a takedown attempt - Biernat sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses.

Biernat darts in and lands a nice takedown into half guard.
Spasov scrambles, trying to get to his feet, but Biernat manages to mount him!

Biernat with some aggressive grappling here. He's looking for submissions here, rather than waiting for the opportunity to counter.
In the pre-fight buildup videos we saw Biernat working his ground and pound in the gym. He isn't landing a great percentage of his ground strikes so far though.

Biernat jumps to side control looking for an arm triangle but Spasov manages to avoid the submission attempt.
Spasov is working hard to escape and get back to his feet. After a battle for position, Biernat asserts his dominance and retains side control.
