Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Sea Level Cain (ranked 2553 p4p, 310 weight class) and Moonlight Maze (ranked 1758 p4p, 229 weight class). Maze has chosen Sabine Kors feat. Timaro - Dagestan as his entrance music. The atmosphere really building for this one as we go over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 25 - 14 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Sea Level Cain!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 10 - 6 - 0, fighting out of London, Moonlight Maze!
The judges for this bout are , Jack Bonds and Frank Antenori.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Maze drives through with a takedown into Cain's guard. Let's see what he can do from the top position.
Maze works a leg free and moves into half guard.

Maze seems to be working for a kimura but Cain defends the submission attempt.

Maze is looking for an arm triangle, whilst trying to pass to side control. Cain doesn't seem that keen to cooperate though. No luck this time Maze.
Maze thows a huge punch but Cain dodges it nicely.
Cain is trying to maintain the position but Maze is very close to passing his half guard.

Maze wants to work for an arm triangle but Cain is really keeping half guard well and defending the submission attempt.
Cain is trying is best to control the position here.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Maze throwing punches and elbows but they're not doing any damage.
Cain wants to control but Maze is keeping busy.
Maze sitting in half guard, looking to land shots. Cain defending well though.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Maze working some ground and pound from close in. He's looking to maintain this position and strike for a while by the looks of things... although he'll probably advance to full mount in a minute now I've said that.
Cain wants to get back to full guard.

That's one minute gone in the round.
The fighters are battling for position here. Cain manages to regain full guard. Nice work.
Cain is trying to control the position but Maze postures up.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Cain has his foot on Maze's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Maze works his way back into a safe position though.
Maze connects with a couple of short punches.
Maze throws an elbow that misses. Cain uses the momentum to reverse the position. He's now in Maze's guard. Nice move by Cain!

Cain content to stall in guard here.
Maze will have to put a bit more behind his punches if he's going to do any damage from this position.
Cain is intent on slowing down the pace of the fight, simply looking to control.
Maze wants to stand up but Cain is controlling him.
Maze has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.
Cain content to stall in guard here.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Cain won't allow Maze to sweep him here.
Cain wants to control from the top but Maze keeps moving.

Maze working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Cain doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Cain manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.

Maze looking for a triangle here. Cain is fighting it but it looks tight! Maze pulls the arm across and this one won't last much longer! Nope, Cain is tapping out - this one is all over!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:57 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Triangle Choke). Moonlight Maze!
After the fight, Moonlight Maze was humble in paying tribute to his opponent but made it clear he wants to go on to bigger and better things. It seemed to go down well with the crowd who cheered him loudly.
