Coming up we have a super heavyweight MMA rules bout between Fernando Martinez (ranked 2735 p4p, 114 weight class) and Mike McMonster (ranked 4065 p4p, 158 weight class). These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

We can't be sure of the tactics at this early stage but we have heard that McMonster has been working on his takedowns a lot in the buildup to the fight and we can only assume he's going to look to take this to the mat.

McMonster is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but Martinez is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now.
The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.

McMonster scores with a big shot from side control... and another... and another! Oh Martinez is done here - save him referee! More strikes land and eventually the ref does step in and McMonster can finally stop beating on his defenseless opponent!
