Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Denis Denisov (ranked 7333 p4p, 275 weight class) and Maggot Soup (ranked 1664 p4p, 96 weight class). Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Denisov fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt.

Soup throws a loose over hand right and dives in with a double leg takedown. Denisov tries to sprawl but it's too late and the fighters hit the mat. Soup is in Denisov's guard.

Soup is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there.

Soup drops back looking for a leg! Denisov is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Denisov manages to kick Soup off! Soup jumps back into Denisov's guard.
Denisov doesn't do any damage with a couple of strikes from the bottom.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Soup is taking a break and basically stalling. The referee will not allow him to do that for long.
Denisov not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Denisov is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.

Soup drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Soup jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.
