The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Morissette falls off balance throwing a combination

and Mambetaly counters with a single leg into guard. Morissette didn't expect that.
Mambetaly stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Morissette swivels though and keeps the full guard.
Mambetaly prevents Morissette from getting back to his feet.
Mambetaly wants to stand but Morissette is controlling his posture from full guard.
Mambetaly stands and throws Morissette's legs to the side, diving into side control.

Mambetaly takes a little break here. Morissette wants to take advantage but he is being controlled well.

The referee asks Mambetaly politely if he wouldn't mind getting on with it and actually doing something. Mambetaly prefers to stall for the moment though.

Morissette throws his opponent off and manages to get back to his feet! Nicely done!
Morissette tries to bum rush Mambetaly with a series of wild strikes but Mambetaly uses good footwork to avoid the assault.
Morissette lets the fists fly and connects with a left straight followed by a right hook.

Mambetaly is looking to counter the offense by Morissette and move into the clinch.
No joy there for Morissette, who threw a few shots but didn't land.

Mambetaly fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Morissette sprawls well initially but Mambetaly persists and gets the takedown into half guard.

Morissette tries to kick Mambetaly off but Mambetaly keeps his base steady and stays in half guard.

Morissette has one foot on Mambetaly's thigh - he pushes off and manages to get back to his feet.

There's a bit of a scramble here and now Mambetaly is on top in guard.

Morissette manages to wriggle out and sneak his way back up to his feet, so the fighters are now clinched up against the cage.
Mambetaly keeps control of Morissette as he tries to wriggle out of the double underhooks.
Morissette has had enough of the clinch but Mambetaly keeps him there for the moment.

Morissette is fighting off a takedown attempt but Mambetaly is just too persistent for him and manages to trip Morissette to the mat. Morissette regains guard as soon as the fighters hit the mat.

Morissette scrambles and gets back to his feet.
Oooooooooooh, not good. A low kick from Mambetaly lands where it shouldn't have, right in the... well, you know what he did? He kicked him in the penis. He's injured, injured bad. The referee sends both fighters to their corners and Morissette has 5 minutes to recover. He's OK now though... a thumbs up from Morissette and we're back underway with a touch of gloves.
Morissette lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Mambetaly circles away quickly and effectively.
Morissette throws a series of punches but Mambetaly moves out of range.
A combination from Morissette does no damage.
Morissette will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.
The fighters are starting to get sweaty, which will make takedowns a bit more tricky.

Mambetaly rushes Morissette and pushes him back against the cage in a clinch.

Morissette is trying to force a seperation but Mambetaly has the dominant position.

Morissette bucks up and tries to throw Mambetaly off but instead Mambetaly has got his back!

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Mambetaly has his hand under the chin of his opponent looking for the choke. He's nearly got it! This one could be all over! But no, Morissette has freed his hand and lives to survive another… well, another couple of seconds at least!

Mambetaly is working for the rear naked choke. He has one arm under the chin but Morissette has hold of the other arm. A bit of a stalemate here.
