Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Joe Sixpack (ranked 24162 p4p, 605 weight class) and John Palmer (ranked 24255 p4p, 627 weight class). John Palmer is the more experienced fighter, so let's see if that makes a difference tonight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Joe Sixpack!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 5 - 0, fighting out of London, John Palmer!
The judges for this bout are Stewart Dunkirk, Chris Downing and Robert Twigg.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Sixpack avoids the body shot from Palmer.
Sixpack on the wrong end of a nice low kick. He's acting like it's no big deal but he doesn't want to take many more of those.
Sixpack misses with a body kick.
Sixpack misses with a takedown attempt - Palmer sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses.
Sixpack throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.

Sixpack has taken the fight to the clinch.
Sixpack definitely looks more muscular than last time we saw him fight.
Sixpack tries to work over Palmer's body with a swooping hook but it only glances the target.
Palmer lands an uppercut.
Palmer gets double underhooks to prevent a takedown attempt from Sixpack.
Sixpack blocks a couple of punches on the inside.
Palmer misses with a punch to the body.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Palmer softening up his opponent with strikes, against the cage.
Palmer tries a shoulder strike but it doesn't do any damage.
Sixpack prevents a body shot from Palmer.
Palmer prevents a takedown attempt there.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Joe Sixpack. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Palmer lands on the inside with an uppercut.
Sixpack lands a left hand.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Palmer can't find room to land a body shot as Sixpack controls the action.
Palmer lands with a right to the head.
Sixpack blocks an uppercut.
Sixpack is looking to break free of the clinch but Palmer has double underhooks.
Sixpack tries to circle away but Palmer has him pinned against the cage.
Sixpack working aggressively here.
Palmer is pressed up against the cage. Sixpack has hold of a leg and is looking to drag Palmer down to the mat. Palmer avoids the attempt though and has circled away. We're back to striking at a distance.
Sixpack shoots in for a takedown but Palmer shows good takedown defense.
Palmer keeping a good distance there, avoiding the body shot.
Palmer works Sixpack's body with a nice hook.

Sixpack pushes Palmer up against the cage in a clinch.
Sixpack is working for a takedown up against the cage. He can't get it on this occasion though.
Palmer lands a right hand.
A right hand to the body from Palmer.
Sixpack is breathing heavily.
A nice left hand lands by Palmer.
Sixpack blocks an uppercut.
Sixpack tries to pull guard but can't drag his opponent to the mat. Palmer just stands there and leans against the cage.
Palmer doesn't land with the attempted body shot.
Sixpack goes for a takedown attempt but Palmer pushes him away and we're back to fighting at a distance.
Palmer has been working on his striking defense in training and it's paying off as Sixpack is landing a low percentage of strikes.
Sixpack takes a thudding leg kick, right into the meat of the thigh.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Palmer lunges at Sixpack with a hook that half lands and is half blocked by Sixpack's hand.


It looks like Joe Sixpack has been cut.
Palmer with a body punch. A glancing blow.
John Palmer is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
Palmer throws a head kick but Sixpack moves out of range.
Sixpack walks forward, straight into a front kick from Palmer.
Sixpack on the wrong end of a decent looking cross there.

Palmer lands a left and a right that send Sixpack crashing to the mat, dazed. Palmer thinks about following him to the mat but decides to wave him back up to his feet!


Sixpack is rocked!
Joe Sixpack seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
A shot to the liver by Palmer. Beautiful body shot.
Oh Sixpack is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!
Sixpack stumbles momentarily as he takes a strong leg kick from Palmer.
Palmer drops Sixpack with a huge uppercut! Sixpack drops to the floor like a sack of potatoes. Palmer is raining down punches and the ref stops the fight! This one is all over!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:34 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). John Palmer!
