Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Hujapalapa Kultenari (ranked 3717 p4p, 332 weight class) and Nick Wright (ranked 4707 p4p, 379 weight class). Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 2 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Hujapalapa Kultenari!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 2 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Nick Wright!
The judges for this bout are David Hoff, Bart Greer and Santiago Holmes.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Wright fakes a strike and closes the distance, dragging Kultenari to the ground. Wright is now in Kultenari's guard.

Wright drops back for a leg but he's not going to get it - he lets go and Kultenari dives on top into guard.

Kultenari stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Wright swivels though and keeps the full guard.
Wright keeping moving, preventing Kultenari from controlling successfully.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Wright looking to control.
Kultenari stands and throws Wright's legs to the side, diving into side control.
Kultenari trying to control the position but Wright is working away.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Wright managing to avoid any damage from the strikes thrown by Kultenari.
Wright is not content to let Kultenari control the position.

That's one minute gone in the round.

Kultenari tries for a kimura but Wright is defending well.
Kultenari is moving around in side control but his primary objective seems to be to maintain the position.
Wright defending against the ground and pound.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.
Kultenari working the strikes but Wright uses the opportunity to regain half guard.
Wright is trying to get back to full guard.
Wright wants to control but Kultenari is keeping busy.
Wright avoiding damage under a succession of punches from Kultenari.
Wright really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Kultenari. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
Kultenari controlling the pace.
Kultenari trying to control the action but Wright is working from the bottom.

The ref stands the fighters back up due to a lack of activity.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Kultenari shoots in looking for a takedown but Wright manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Kultenari's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away.

Wright shoots in looking for a single leg takedown. Kultenari is trying to defend but Wright finishes it well and ends up in half guard. Let's see if he can advance position further.
Wright thows a wild elbow that connects with the canvas.
Kultenari moves into full guard.
Wright pushing down on Kultenari's thigh, trying to pass to half guard. He's managed it... Nice work.

Kultenari wants to control but Wright is keeping busy.

Kultenari is pressing down on Wright's left leg trying to get back to full guard. He's managed it.
Kultenari is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent.
Kultenari is breathing heavily.

Kultenari working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Wright doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Wright manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.
Wright trying to control the position from guard on top but Kultenari is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

A close round but Nick Wright will probably get the nod.
That's time! Back to the action!



Wright closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard.
Kultenari wants to get back to full guard.
Wright has been the more effective fighter overall so far.
Kultenari is trying to control but can't.
Wright working some ground and pound from close in. He's looking to maintain this position and strike for a while by the looks of things... although he'll probably advance to full mount in a minute now I've said that.

Wright has hold of the far side arm. He's working for the Kimura, can Kultenari defend it? Wright steps over the head and cranks it - Kultenari is tapping out! That was textbook stuff right there - nice submission victory for Wright!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:29 of round 2, we have a winner by way of Submission (Kimura). Nick Wright!
