The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Shepkin clinches.
Shepkin trying to stall but Shamus improves his position.
Shamus jumps guard but Shepkin turns him against the cage and keeps the fight standing.
Shamus wants a takedown but no success here.

Shamus jumps into guard, dragging Shepkin to the mat.
Shamus is looking to stand up but Shepkin isn't so interested in that idea.

Shepkin stands and steps away. Shamus gets to his feet too and we're back to the striking game.
Shamus shoots in looking for a takedown but Shepkin manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Shamus's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away.

Shamus tries to get back to his feet but has found himself mounted instead. Damn, that's gotta suck.

Shepkin is thinking about an arm triangle here, looking to tighten it up before moving to side control. Shamus can see it coming though and defends well with a couple of strikes to the head and some good arm positioning.

Shamus sneaks a leg back under and regains half guard and is working straight away to try and get back to guard. He hasn't managed just yet though.

Shamus is looking for a sweep. Shepkin is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.
Shepkin passes into side control, despite Shamus's attempt to control the position.
Shamus tries to improve position but can't.

Shamus knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Shepkin on the ground.
Shepkin manages to capitalize on a mistake by Shamus to take his back!

Shepkin is not going to allow Shamus to sit and survive in this position.

Shamus goes to the watering hole and comes back with a big thumbs up from the judges as he scores a three punch combo.

Shamus forces Shepkin back against the cage and clinches.
Shepkin is looking for a takedown up against the cage. Shamus gets underhooks though and prevents the takedown attempt.
Shepkin tries to jump guard but he falls flat on his backside. Shamus smiles and moves away.

Shepkin changes levels for a counter takedown but doesn't follow through with his attempt.
Shamus closes the distance and clinches up with Shepkin, looking for a takedown. Shamus pushes Shepkin against the cage but Shepkin circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.
Shepkin let fly with a counter punch to the body but it didn't land.
Shamus circles away from the clinch attempt.
Shepkin lands with a head kick! That's gotta hurt.
A telegraphed takedown attempt from Shepkin is defended easily by Shamus.
Shamus tried to counter with a leg kick but Shepkin avoided it.
Shepkin fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Shamus avoids it really well and circles away.

Shepkin shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Let's see what he's got on the mat.

Shepkin drops back looking for a submission - "I'm sorry sir, but I'm gunna break your leg" says Shepkin as he cranks on the unfortunate limb! Shamus screams and taps out before any major damage is done! Don't mess with Shepkin! Nice submission victory there!
