And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 13 - 7 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Lynn Steinheiser!
The judges for this bout are Jack Bonds, and Frank Antenori.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Biernat shoots in looking for a single leg takedown. Steinheiser is trying to defend but Biernat finishes it well and ends up in half guard. Let's see if he can advance position further.

Steinheiser is defending against the submission attempts here by Biernat.

Biernat is trying to work for a kimura but Steinheiser is defending well.

Biernat is trying a forearm choke… I don't think that's going to do much at this level of the game.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Biernat is working for submissions here but there's nothing on.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Biernat seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Steinheiser does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back.
Biernat is trying to advance to mount but he's lost his balance and Steinheiser reverses the position - he's now on top in Biernat's guard.

Biernat is looking for a triangle but Steinheiser pushes his legs off easily.

Biernat has his foot on Steinheiser's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Steinheiser works his way back into a safe position though.
Steinheiser distracts Biernat with his right hand and drops a big elbow with his other arm.

Biernat seems to have improved his submission grappling technique since last time we saw him. Let's see if he can pull off a submission.

Biernat working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Steinheiser doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Steinheiser manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Biernat is rocked!
Steinheiser gets to his feet and stands over Biernat, holding his ankles. He dives in with a big left hand that connects! Biernat felt that one! Steinheiser unloads more punches and elbows and this one is over! The ref has dived in to save Biernat from any more punishment!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:42 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Lynn Steinheiser!
