Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Able James (ranked 5989 p4p, 403 weight class) and Marshall Train (ranked 6320 p4p, 420 weight class). The key to victory for Able James has got to be keeping the fight on the feet.

Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of London, Marshall Train!
The judges for this bout are Wesley Smith, Stewart Dunkirk and Gwen Towbar.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Train defends well against a solid takedown attempt from James.
James closes this distance looking for a takedown but Train circles away.

Train clinches.
Train scores with a hook to the body.
Train misses the knee to the body. Nice hip positioning from James.
Train keeps control of James as he tries to wriggle out of the double underhooks.
Train looks more muscular than last time we saw him. He must have been on the weights.
James trying to control the position but instead, Train has worked for underhooks and has pushed James into the cage.

James breaks from the clinch.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
James is looking to clinch but Train is avoiding it.
As James backs off Train throws a huge counter combo but James manages to avoid it all.
James displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from Train.
Train gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily
and James counters with a two punch combo.

James looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Train is fending him off so far but James persists. Nope, Train circles away and we're back to standing.
James sets himself, and Train steps forward looking for the clinch! James avoids it this time.

James shoots in for a double leg but Train sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy.
Train is loading up here, looking for a big counter of his own.
James shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Train but Train pushes him off and we're back to square one.
James is breathing heavily.
Nice takedown defense from James. No joy for Train on that attempt.
As Train looks to move away, James throws a big counter combo but Train just gets out of the way.

Train closes the distance and scores a nice trip takedown into half guard. James did well to prevent Train getting side control.
James pushes Train off but Train dives into side control.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Let's hope that Train has the urge to step up the pace any second now because for the last 15 or 20 seconds he's just been holding on tight.

Train tries to move to mount but James blocks the move with his legs.
Train content to control the pace. The referee will try and keep them active though.
It looks like Train might be adopting somewhat of a lay and pray gameplan here, which I'm sure won't go down too well with the paying fans in attendance... Or the ring announcers come to think of it.
Train tries to stand but James is controlling his head.

Train looks up at the clock and then as James takes his cue and looks up at the clock too, Train smacks him right in the chops with a big elbow! How rude!
James tries to work a leg under to get back to half guard but Train wriggles his own leg back out and remains in side control.
James stops Train from passing to mount.

Train decides to stand back up. Train steps back and let's James get back to his feet.
James shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it.
Despite the aggression on Train's face he doesn't fully commit to the counter.
James tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Train paws at him with a jab and circles away.

That's four minutes gone in the round.

Train shoots in and scores a nice double leg takedown into half guard.
James trying to control here but he's found himself mounted! Oh no!
Train with shots to the head and body - James looks very uncomfortable down there.

The crowd growing excited in anticipation of a finish here! Right on cue, Train cracks his opponent with a massive right hand that draws loud cheers!
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.

It looks like Able James has been cut.

And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Marshall Train dominated that round.

That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business.



Train closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard.
Train is figuring out what he wants to do next.

Train is sneakily working for an arm triangle but James sees it coming and defends easily.
James is looking for a sweep. Train is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.
Well, if Train is going to just lie there, perhaps we should talk about what we're having for dinner tonight… I'm having a ham and pineapple pizza… Yum. Can't wait.

Train has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.
James is positioning himself to get back to half guard.

Train thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead.

You can see the frustration on James's face, being in this tough position on the bottom.

The referee has decided to stand the fighters back up, so we'll restart on the feet.

Train shoots in for a takedown and gets it.
Train works his foot free and advances to mount.
Train punishing his opponent with strikes.


Able James's cut is bleeding quite badly. He's got to try and protect it.
James tries to hold on but Train postures up.
James tries to reverse the position but Train maintains control.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Train tucks in and makes sure he doesn't lose the dominant position.
James looking to escape from mount but he's given up his back!
Train has been the more effective fighter overall so far.
James is trapped and Train is scoring with shots to the head and body.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!

Marshall Train showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.

That's time! James's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight. This is the final round!



Train shoots in for a takedown from distance. He catches James napping and manages to drive through into side control!
Train just content to control the position.
Train passes to full mount! That's big trouble for James!
James regains half guard.
Train working some ground and pound from close in. He's looking to maintain this position and strike for a while by the looks of things... although he'll probably advance to full mount in a minute now I've said that.

James is trying to maintain the position but Train is very close to passing his half guard.
Neither fighter is being very active at the moment, with Train in particular looking to stall.

Jeez, Able James's cut is really nasty now. The referee must be thinking about getting that checked.

The referee calls the doctor in to look at Able James's cut. Oh no, the doctor has called an end to the bout!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:55 of round 3, we have a winner by way of TKO (Cut). Marshall Train!
