Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Dewonte Manigga (ranked 4865 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jian Fu (ranked 4669 p4p, 464 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Manigga shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Fu's guard.
Manigga's corner is telling him to maintain position.
Manigga will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.
Manigga is looking to work some ground and pound but Fu has wrist control.

Manigga stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Fu swivels though and keeps the full guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Fu looking to hit a scissor sweep but Manigga is one step ahead there.

We've had a lack of effective grappling in the last minute or so, which could well see a referee standup.

Fu scores with a nice looking left hook and follows it up with an uppercut!
Fu wings a very wild body shot but it does the job and lands to the midsection.

Fu tries to sprawl but Manigga drives through with a takedown into half guard.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!

Manigga gets to his feet - back to striking we go!

A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.
Fu closes this distance looking for a takedown but Manigga circles away.
Fu changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Manigga tries to avoid it but Fu manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Manigga to the ground. Manigga escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.
A left and a right from Fu both land. Nice combination.
Manigga throws a sloppy head kick and Fu moves out of range easily.
Fu tries to clinch

and Manigga counters with a driving takedown into guard. Nice work there by Manigga.
Manigga controls the pace of the fight for a moment.

Fu tries to roll over but Manigga keeps him under control.
Fu looks winded!

Manigga is working for a submission of some sort.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action.

Fu tries to close the distance and clinch but Manigga swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.
Fu looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Manigga is fending him off so far but Fu persists. Nope, Manigga circles away and we're back to standing.

Manigga darts in and clinches Fu up against the cage.
Manigga is trying to pull guard but Fu turns him against the cage and we stay in the clinch.
Fu looks like he'd prefer to be striking at range right now.

Fu has hold of one of Manigga's legs. Manigga is fighting the takedown attempt but Fu gets the trip and lands the takedown into guard.

Manigga is scooting his butt against the cage and has managed to get back to his feet. Fu presses him back against the cage, presumably looking to take the fight back to the mat.
Manigga jumps guard but Fu stands there with Manigga around his waist. Manigga gives up and drops back to his feet. We remain in the clinch.
Manigga swings wildly with an uppercut but Fu uses good head movement to avoid it.
Fu has Manigga pressed up against the cage and is working for takedown. Manigga manages to improve position though and keeps the fight standing.
Fu jumps guard but Manigga turns him against the cage and keeps the fight standing.
Dewonte Manigga has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Jian Fu.

Fu is sitting in close to Manigga's body. Manigga has gone for a guillotine from the bottom. Oh damn, that looks pretty tight! Fu is panicking - it looks like this one could be all over! Yes, Fu is tapping! That was a very nice submission by Manigga.
