Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Uros Cenic (ranked 6301 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jake Petersen (ranked 4699 p4p, 0 weight class). Chooooooooon! I think Cenic might be my favorite fighter, now he's come out to https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=O_4OfD-wmGs. Uros Cenic has the edge in experience - let's see if he can make that count tonight.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Jake Petersen!
The judges for this bout are Santiago Holmes, Peter Branson and Daniel Franklin.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Sloppy strikes from Cenic. Those never looked like landing.
Petersen feints the counter takedown.

Cenic closes the distance and after a bit of a stuggle, scores a takedown into Petersen's guard.
Petersen is controlling Cenic's posture.
Petersen looking to control.
Petersen looking to hit a scissor sweep but Cenic is one step ahead there.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Cenic controls from within his opponent's guard.
Petersen is avoiding any damage by keeping wrist control.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.

Cenic closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - Cenic lands in his opponent's guard.

Cenic knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Petersen on the ground.

Petersen not doing a lot at the moment. He'll have to show some more aggression or the fight will get stood up.

That was a close round but I would say that Uros Cenic will probably get the nod.
The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.

Petersen looks up at the clock and then as Cenic takes his cue and looks up at the clock too, Petersen smacks him right in the chops with a big elbow! How rude!

Petersen wants to lay and pray for a moment but Cenic keeps working.

Petersen has knee on belly and now moves to full mount! Trouble for Cenic!

Petersen takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though.
Petersen sends his fist crashing into the mat - the crowd let out a collective ooooooh. Let's hope he's not broken it!
Jake Petersen has got the better of the ground game so far.

Petersen looking to control and managing it successfully.
Petersen wants to control the pace but Cenic is squirming around nicely.
Petersen might have to switch it up a bit here because his efforts to control Cenic haven't been going to plan, at least at the current moment in time.
Cenic is in all sorts of trouble here.

Petersen landing strikes, looking to finish!

Petersen goes for an armbar but he's not got it… Cenic turns into him and now he's in Petersen's guard.
Petersen manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Cenic manages to get himself to full guard.

Petersen slips effortlessly into side control - very nice.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
Petersen wants to lay and pray for a moment but Cenic keeps working.

The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.

The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!

Jake Petersen showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action. This is the final round!


Cenic throws the kick towards the body but Petersen avoids it.

Petersen shoots in with a lovely double leg takedown. Cenic manages to land in full guard to minimise the damage.
Cenic is wriggling around but Petersen manages to pass to half guard.


Petersen in half guard on the top. He's looking for a kimura... He's got it locked and he's managed to free his trapped foot. Cenic tries to escape but it's on too tight and he has to tap! Great BJJ skills there from Petersen!
