Coming up we have a super heavyweight MMA rules bout between Boogie Mann (ranked 5376 p4p, 183 weight class) and Jore Maki (ranked 5325 p4p, 181 weight class). Boogie Mann could well score a knockout today. He has the power to get to Jore Maki's chin.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the super heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 3 - 3 - 0, fighting out of New York, Boogie Mann!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Jore Maki!
The judges for this bout are Alec Ball, Elvis Blanc and Gregory Folan.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Mann avoids a low kick by using good footwork.

Mann shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Let's see what he's got on the mat.
Mann will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.
Maki lands a beautiful sweep and he's now moved into his opponent's guard.

Maki stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Mann swivels though and keeps the full guard.
Maki postures up in Mann's guard and throws a big left but Mann blocks it.
Maki is pushing down on Mann's leg trying to pass to half guard. Mann is fighting to maintain full guard but Maki has managed to sneak the leg through.
Maki takes a deep breath and rests his weight momentarily on top of his opponent, to control the position.

Maki seems to be looking for submissions.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Maki wants to take a breather but Mann is having none of it.
Maki not throwing his punches with enough precision this time.
Maki not landing any meaningful shots this time.

Maki wants to work for an arm triangle but Mann is really keeping half guard well and defending the submission attempt.
Maki content to sit in half guard and control for a moment.
Maki is keen to just control but Mann is a slippery customer.

Maki slows the pace down in half guard.
Mann looks to be in better condition than last time we saw him fight. Obviously he's been working hard on his cardio.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.
Mann tries to get to full guard but Maki has control of the leg.
Maki has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.
Maki perhaps working for something from half guard, or maybe not. It looks like he's just sitting there.

The referee has stepped in and called for a break in the action. We'll restart on the feet.

Maki instigates a clinch.

Maki shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Mann as he jumps to the side.

Maki gets to the clinch - let's see what his plan is here.

Maki breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Maki avoids the head kick by Mann.
Maki tries to score a power double leg takedown but Mann sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Maki somewhat.
Maki shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Mann sprawls well. Mann wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Maki gets slowly back to his feet.
Boogie Mann has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Jore Maki.
Maki tries to bum rush Mann with a series of wild strikes but Mann uses good footwork to avoid the assault.
Mann half commits to a counter takedown before pushing away, out of range.

Maki gets in close and instigates a clinch.
Maki is looking to take this one to the mat.
Maki goes for a takedown attempt but Mann pushes him away and we're back to fighting at a distance.
Boogie Mann seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Maki moves into range and clinches up with Mann.

Maki breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Mann dives in and grabs Maki's left leg, looking for a takedown. Maki pushes down on Mann's head and hops out.
Maki shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Mann pinned against the cage. Mann gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.
Maki stuffs the takedown attempt from Mann. Mann gets slowly back to his feet.
Mann is breathing heavily.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
Maki shoots in looking for a takedown. Mann tries to sprawl out of it but Maki keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Mann manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Jore Maki dominated that round.
The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!


Maki attempts a leg kick but it's missed by a good margin.
Nice takedown defense from Mann. No joy for Maki on that attempt.
Maki misses with a wild combination.
Mann fails with the takedown
and Maki counters with a two punch combo.
Mann misses with a series of wild punches.
Maki dives in for a single leg takedown but Mann sprawls and the fighters end up clinched against the cage.
Mann misses with a kick to the body.
Boogie Mann is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Mann shoots in for a takedown but Maki shows good takedown defense.
Maki is looking for the big counter here.
Good work by Mann as he checks the leg kick.
Mann attempts a counter takedown but Maki avoids it well and moves away.
Maki closes this distance looking for a takedown but Mann circles away.
Boogie Mann has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Jore Maki.
Mann goes for a double leg but Maki avoids the attempt and the two fighters end up clinched against the cage as Maki continues to drive forward.

Maki has Mann up against the cage in a clinch.
Maki has been the more effective fighter overall so far.
Mann wants a takedown but no success here.

Maki jumps guard.
Maki is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.

Maki passes to full mount!
Maki tucks in and makes sure he doesn't lose the dominant position.

Maki takes Mann's back.
Maki thows a huge left but connects with the canvas and not his opponent.
The referee is taking a good look at Mann as he is on the wrong end of some big shots from Maki!

Maki is persistently looking for the submission but Mann is defending it well.
Maki really has the hooks in deep now - there seems like no escape for Mann.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Maki's corner are shouting for him to control the position and he seems happy to oblige.

Maki is remaining active here, looking for the choke. The more discerning members of the crowd will appreciate his efforts.

Maki has his hand under the chin of his opponent looking for the choke. He's nearly got it! This one could be all over! But no, Mann has freed his hand and lives to survive another… well, another couple of seconds at least!
A lull in the action here.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.
Mann covering up well under a series of strikes from Maki.
Mann staying busy and making it hard for Maki to control.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Mann is really stuck here.

Maki working for a RNC but it's not happening just yet.
Maki has the hooks sunk in and you can see the will to fight slowly draining out of Mann's body.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Jore Maki showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
That's time! Mann's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight. And we move into the final round!



Maki closes the distance and pushes Mann back into the cage.
Maki works on Mann's body with a couple of short punches.

Maki pulls Mann into guard.

Maki has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Mann can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.

Mann prevents Maki from getting back to his feet.

Maki is scooting his butt against the cage and has managed to get back to his feet. Mann presses him back against the cage, presumably looking to take the fight back to the mat.
Maki controlling the action here for a moment.

Maki manages to pull guard. Let's see whether he can land a sub off his back.
Maki manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Mann manages to get himself to full guard.

Maki slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up.

Maki throws a big elbow that misses.
Maki trying to control but Mann is working from the bottom.
Maki passes into half guard.
Maki content to control rather than advance.
Jore Maki has got the better of the ground game so far.
Maki tries to pass the half guard into mount. Mann knows what he's doing though and prevents the attempt.
Mann knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Maki on the ground.

Neither fighter is being very active at the moment, with Maki in particular looking to stall.
Mann is trying to get back to full guard.
Boogie Mann has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!
Maki is taking a breather. Mann says something to him but it's hard to make out. Perhaps he's telling him to get on with it and actually do something.
Maki passes to side control.

Maki thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.
Maki in side control, just content to control the action for now.
Maki misses with an attempted head punch from side control.
A bit of a lull in the action. I'm sure it will pick up again soon... even if the ref has to physically pick them up and put them back on their feet.
Maki in side control, trying to ground and pound but not landing this time.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!
Maki wants to control but Mann is keeping him busy.

The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up. He just wasn't happy with the level of activity.
Mann defends well against a solid takedown attempt from Maki.
Jore Maki is fighting for a decision - hopefully he's judged it right and he's actually winning the fight.
Maki takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired.
No joy there for Mann, who threw a few shots but didn't land.

And that's the end of the fight!
Jore Maki comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
Well Maki has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
