Coming up we have a middleweight Tycoon World Grappling Championship rules bout between George Arias (ranked 1555 p4p, 205 weight class) and Carlos Silverio (ranked 6333 p4p, 504 weight class). Silverio has chosen Shiro Sagisu - Angel of Doom as his entrance music. Both fighter's entrance songs getting the crowd jumping here.

This TWGC bout is 1 fifteen minute round in the middleweight division. Introducing today's competitors. In the red corner, competing out of Los Angeles, with a TWGC record of 15 wins and 7 losses; George Arias! And in the blue corner, fighting out of New York, with a TWGC record of 18 wins and 11 losses; Carlos Silverio!
The judges for this bout are Thiago Cunha, Seu Braga and Mauricio Rocha.


The fighters bow as they face eachother in the middle of the mat and we are under way.
Silverio tries to clinch there but Arias circles away.

Silverio takes the fight into the clinch.

Arias turns his back and goes for a hip toss. It's a bit messy but it gets the job done and Arias manages to end up in side control.

We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake.
Arias tries to move to mount but Silverio blocks the move with his legs.

Silverio has found himself in a tricky position here. He's been working his transitions in training so let's see if he can work his way out of it.

Silverio had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Arias defends it easily.
Arias stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Silverio swivels though and keeps the full guard.

Arias is holding a leg here, probably looking for an ankle lock - he drops back and goes for it! Silverio is in trouble! Is it all over??? No! Silverio has escaped and now he's on top!

Arias has his hand under the chin of his opponent looking for the choke. He's nearly got it! This one could be all over! But no, Silverio has freed his hand and lives to survive another… well, another couple of seconds at least!

I would not like to be Silverio right now.

You can see the frustration on Silverio's face… He knows he is in trouble unless he improves his position sooner rather than later.

Arias is staying calm and holding on to the back position, whilst working on a rear naked choke. Silverio is defending well though. Arias let's go of the attempt for now.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
