PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Aylin Shah (ranked 2964 p4p, 354 weight class) and John Fadden (ranked 7010 p4p, 550 weight class). John Fadden told me before the fight that he's been watching a lot of DVDs so let's see if that helps him in this one! I can't wait to find out!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 5 - 5 - 1, fighting out of New York, Aylin Shah!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 3 - 6 - 0, fighting out of New York, John Fadden!
The judges for this bout are Jorge Garcia, Dean Styles and David Schapiro.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Fadden clinches up with Shah and pushes him back against the cage.
Shah tries to circle away but Fadden has him pinned against the cage.
Fadden prevents a takedown attempt there.

Fadden has double underhooks and is working for a body lock takedown. He's got it. The fighters land in half guard but Shah regains guard immediately.

Fadden must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.

Fadden got a little sloppy there for a moment and Shah has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Fadden has managed to get both his arms back between Shah's legs - danger averted.

Shah lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Fadden circles away quickly and effectively.
Shah throws a body kick that sends a sickening thudding noise reverberating around the arena.

Fadden has moved round to his opponent's back and is looking for a suplex! Oh snap! He's tossed Shah clear over his head and slammed him to the mat!

Fadden is staying calm and holding on to the back position, whilst working on a rear naked choke. Shah is defending well though. Fadden let's go of the attempt for now.
