Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Pierre Mvarre (ranked 3695 p4p, 316 weight class) and Leam OCollins (ranked 5729 p4p, 0 weight class). Leam OCollins is the more experienced fighter, so let's see if that makes a difference tonight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Pierre Mvarre!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Leam OCollins!
The judges for this bout are Joseph Jones, John Roberts and Jonathan Paton.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Mvarre misses with a straight right.

OCollins gets in close and instigates a clinch.

OCollins breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Mvarre misses with a double jab

and OCollins counters by moving into the clinch. Good anticipation by OCollins.
Mvarre has dropped down and is looking to force the takedown but it's defended by OCollins after a bit of a struggle.
Mvarre has had enough of the clinch and is looking to separate.
OCollins tries to score a body lock takedown but Mvarre shows good agility there to stay on his feet.

OCollins pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.
No luck with that takedown attempt from OCollins.
Mvarre uses decent footwork to sidestep a right hand from OCollins.

OCollins has taken the fight to the clinch.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

OCollins jumps guard and drags Mvarre to the mat. He's obviously going to be looking for submissions off his back.
We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake.
Mvarre is looking to stand up but OCollins won't let him.

That's one minute gone in the round.
OCollins wants to stand up but Mvarre is controlling him.
OCollins looking to control the pace of the fight rather than finish it.

OCollins is active off his back here, looking for submissions.
Mvarre has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player.
Mvarre wants to stand but OCollins has a closed guard, so he can't escape.

OCollins working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Mvarre doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Mvarre manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.
OCollins will have to put a bit more behind his punches if he's going to do any damage from this position.
Mvarre has decided he wants to stand but the closed guard of OCollins is proving hard to escape from.
Mvarre wants to stand and escape but instead OCollins has hit a sweep and he's now on top in guard.

OCollins throwing strikes but missing.
OCollins scoring with some ground and pound.
Mvarre controls OCollins momentarily but OCollins frees himself.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
OCollins wants to pass the guard but Mvarre is keeping the position.
OCollins throws a big elbow that misses.
Mvarre is trying to stand up but he's not managed so far.
OCollins preventing the sweep.
Mvarre wants to get back to his feet but he's too absorbed in his own little project and OCollins manages to pass to side control.
Mvarre wants to stand back up but OCollins manages to pass into side control.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
OCollins content to control the pace. The referee will try and keep them active though.

OCollins looking for an arm triangle but it's way too loose to do anything.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
OCollins takes a little break here. Mvarre wants to take advantage but he is being controlled well.
Mvarre is trying to control OCollins's posture but OCollins avoids it.
Mvarre is looking for a sweep.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.
Mvarre avoids any damage from the ground and pound of OCollins.
You can see the frustration on Mvarre's face as OCollins controls the position.
OCollins has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.
Mvarre tries to control but OCollins manages to take his back.

OCollins is staying calm and holding on to the back position, whilst working on a rear naked choke. Mvarre is defending well though. OCollins let's go of the attempt for now.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!
Mvarre is trying to stand back up.
OCollins biding his time, looking for the opening.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Leam OCollins dominated that round.
The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action!


OCollins blocks a jab.
Mvarre pulls out of a head kick attempt.
Mvarre misses with a hook. OCollins ducked under it nicely.
OCollins has been the more effective fighter overall so far.
Nice cross by Mvarre.
Mvarre is the aggressor but that punch slipped nicely by OCollins.
OCollins shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Mvarre pinned against the cage. Mvarre gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.
Mvarre was looking to counter that move with a punch but didn't quite pull the trigger.
Mvarre lands a powerful looking uppercut that connected with his opponent's jaw.
Pierre Mvarre seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Mvarre feints and then winds up with a huge right hand that connects perfectly and sends OCollins sprawling to the canvas! OCollins rolls over backwards and springs off the cage and manages to regain his footing - how acrobatic! Oh, he's still wobbly - can Mvarre finish him?!


OCollins is rocked!


It looks like Leam OCollins has been cut.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
OCollins leaves his chin hanging out and Mvarre seizes the opportunity with an uppercut! OCollins crumbles to the floor in a heap! The referee steps in and tends to the downed fighter! What a knockout!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:47 of round 2, we have a winner by way of KO (Punch). Pierre Mvarre!
