PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a super heavyweight MMA rules bout between James Jordon (ranked 2605 p4p, 58 weight class) and Hamish McTavish (ranked 1930 p4p, 88 weight class). Jordon comes to the cage accompanied by Sticky Icky. These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 5 rounds, for the super heavyweight championship of the world!

And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 15 - 14 - 0, fighting out of New York, Hamish McTavish!
The judges for this bout are Anthony Taglia, Russell Pearce and Franklyn Lucas.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
A cross from Jordon lands.

Jordon throws a hard body shot but it just misses.
Jordon throws a wild combination but nothing lands.
Jordon fakes with a right hand and throws a good leg kick, right into the thigh. That had to hurt McTavish.
McTavish scores with a spinning back kick!
Jordon scores with a reasonable looking shot to the body. McTavish doesn't seem bothered though.
McTavish shoots in but no luck this time.

and Jordon counters with a stiff right hand.


It looks like Hamish McTavish has been cut.
McTavish shakes his hands off, looking to compose himself, but takes a jab to the jaw whilst he does it.

Jordon closes the distance and after a bit of a stuggle, scores a takedown into McTavish's guard.
This has been an exciting period of action!
McTavish wants to sweep here but Jordon controlling him for the moment.
Jordon wants to control from the top but McTavish keeps moving.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

McTavish escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Jordon gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.

Jordon stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. McTavish swivels though and keeps the full guard.
Jordon is fighting to break McTavish's control of his arms but McTavish is doing a good job of controlling the position at the moment.
A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Jordon accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.
Jordon has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.
Jordon is looking to work some ground and pound but McTavish has wrist control.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.

A solid leg kick lands there for McTavish.

and Jordon counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head.
McTavish steps to the side to avoid the strikes from Jordon.

Jordon connects with a lovely jab that went straight through the gap between McTavish's hands.
Like a baseball bat into the meat of his leg there - nice leg kick by Jordon.
Jordon checks a low kick. Bone on bone - not my idea of a good time.

Jordon closes the distance and clinches.
Jordon lands a short shot on the inside that snaps the head of McTavish backwards.
McTavish wants to strike at distance but he can't break free of the clinch.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Jordon cracks McTavish with a nice body shot.

Jordon lands a shoulder strike.
Jordon lands a nice uppercut.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Jordon lands with a quick shot inside that doesn't really do much damage.
Jordon is working McTavish over against the cage.
McTavish is breathing heavily.

Jordon has McTavish pressed up against the cage. He's trying to work for a single leg takedown. Jordon pulls back from the cage and twists to the side, sending McTavish tumbling to the mat - Jordon dives into McTavish's guard.
Jordon arches his back and unloads with a massive left and a right! McTavish's eyes roll back into his head, he's out cold! The ref dives in to stop the fight - wow, they were hard shots!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:23 of round 2, we have a winner by way of KO (Strikes). James Jordon!
