And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 19 - 8 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Keith Bishop!
The judges for this bout are Yukihiro Yamamoto, Yuuki Gou and Tatsuya Matsuyama.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Bishop connects with a right hand. Diggs shakes it off.
Bishop connects with a body shot.
Bishop misses with a hook.
Diggs went nuts there looking for a big combo counter but none of the flurry connected.
Diggs displays some good footwork, moving neatly out of range as Bishop throws out the jab.
Diggs is looking to clinch.

Diggs drives through with a takedown into guard.

Diggs throwing shots from guard but he's hitting more mat than opponent.

Diggs is pushing Bishop's head away, looking to escape. Bishop manages to hold on to the position though.

The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up. He just wasn't happy with the level of activity.

Diggs changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Bishop looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better.
Diggs wants to control but Bishop is keeping him busy.

Diggs moving around in side mount but really he's just happy to control for now.

Diggs wants to lay and pray for a moment but Bishop keeps working.

The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.


Diggs looks for a takedown but Bishop sprawls well.
It seemed like Bishop was going to counter with the hook but didn't fully commit to it.

Bishop has been the more effective fighter overall so far.

Diggs throws his legs up looking to secure a triangle. Oh, that looks pretty tight, I gotta say! Bishop escapes and throws Diggs's legs to the side, diving into side control!
Diggs tries to improve position but can't.
Diggs is in a bad spot here and he knows it... just holding on for now.
Bishop slows the pace down.
The step up in weight doesn't seem to be a problem for Bishop. He's performing admirably here against the bigger man.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.

Bishop stands up and beckons Diggs to his feet.
Diggs looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily.

Bishop tries to bum rush Diggs with a series of wild strikes but Diggs uses good footwork to avoid the assault.

Bishop manages to create a bit of space in order to work his way back to his feet. Diggs keeps hold of his opponent and drives him back against the cage.

This has been an exciting period of action!
Diggs blocks a body shot from Bishop.
Diggs jumps guard but his hands slip and he falls flat on his back. Well, he's made himself look a right mug there, as Bishop walks away with a smile on his face. Diggs gets slowly back to his feet and shakes his head.
Diggs changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Bishop tries to avoid it but Diggs manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Bishop to the ground. Bishop escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.
A little jabbing left from Bishop on the counter but it doesn't find it's target.
Bishop throws a half hearted mid kick.
Diggs bobs and weaves well there to avoid the strikes.
Keith Bishop seems to be getting the better of the standup.

Diggs is trying to close the distance and clinch up, after that failed offence from Bishop.

Bishop is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.

Keith Bishop showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.

Bishop throws a body shot but no joy.
Diggs throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Bishop's waist but Bishop gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Diggs off to one side.

Diggs looks to have improved his striking defense since last time we saw him fight.

Diggs throws a counter high kick but Bishop was just alert enough to avoid it.
Bishop throws a monster uppercut resembling something out of street fighter but it doesn't land.

Horrible takedown attempt by Diggs or perhaps it was just good defense by Bishop, which made it look bad.

Bishop tries a switch kick but it misses it's target.
Diggs's hands are dropping dangerously low here and Bishop connects clean with a right hook that sends him down to one knee! Diggs scrambles back to his feet.

Bishop stooping low to avoid any incoming strikes and then lunges in with an uppercut come cross that lands flush.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Bishop makes his way to full guard. A much better position for Bishop.

Diggs gets to his feet and steps away from his opponent.
A decent looking body kick lands there for Bishop.
Bishop throws a push kick but Diggs slaps the foot to one side.
Diggs fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Bishop avoids it really well and circles away.
Keith Bishop is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.

Bishop tries to keep at a distance but Diggs has taken the fight into the clinch.
Robert Diggs has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!

Well Bishop has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
