The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Linga staying out of range there.
Linga moves out of range of the strikes.
Linga takes one to the side of the head.
Linga fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Samir avoids it really well and circles away.
Samir drops down looking to force a counter takedown but Linga defends it well.
Linga fails miserably with a takedown attempt.
A combination from Samir does no damage.

Linga fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Samir sprawls well initially but Linga persists and gets the takedown into half guard.
Samir is refusing to be controlled, as Linga sits in half guard.
Neither fighter is being very active at the moment, with Linga in particular looking to stall.
Samir really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Linga. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
Linga throwing shots but they're hitting the canvas more than the man.

Linga stops Samir from getting back to his feet.
Linga has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.

Linga is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Samir is just riding it out for now. Linga eventually gives up the hold.

Linga really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.
