Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Sol Fitzsimmons (ranked 1450 p4p, 189 weight class) and Claudio Benedetti (ranked 754 p4p, 110 weight class). Benedetti comes into a darkened arena with his song building. Atrevete te kicks in, the lights come on and the crowd goes wild! What a showman! Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Fitzsimmons scores with a sloppy punch to the body. Not much technique there but it did the business.
Benedetti pivots as if he's going to throw a leg kick but stops half way.

It seemed like Benedetti was going to counter with the hook but didn't fully commit to it.

Benedetti on the wrong end of a nice low kick. He's acting like it's no big deal but he doesn't want to take many more of those.

Fitzsimmons lands a really nice looking cross but Benedetti seems unphased.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Oooooooooooh, not good. A low kick from Benedetti lands where it shouldn't have, right in the... well, you know what he did? He kicked him in the penis. He's injured, injured bad. The referee sends both fighters to their corners and Fitzsimmons has 5 minutes to recover. He's OK now though... a thumbs up from Fitzsimmons and we're back underway with a touch of gloves.

Benedetti lands with a hook. Fitzsimmons tried to avoid it but it clipped the top of his head.

A nice side step and Benedetti releases a counter shot to the body, but it doesn't find it's home.

Benedetti moves forwards but Fitzsimmons connects with a nice, crisp jab.

and Benedetti counters with a body kick that brings a smile to the face of both fighters.
Fitzsimmons lets the fists fly and connects with a left straight followed by a right hook.
Fitzsimmons looks to land a right hand but Benedetti moved out of range.
Benedetti takes a thudding leg kick, right into the meat of the thigh.

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
The fight stays on the outside here - Fitzsimmons looks like he's thinking about clinching though.

and Benedetti rattles Fitzsimmons with a well-timed uppercut counter. - Fitzsimmons tries to back away and recover but his hands are down low and he gets tagged again, sending him stumbling down to the canvas. Benedetti dives in after him and quickly finishes the job with a trio of brutal punches, leaving Fitzsimmons stiff and motionless on the mat!

After winning the bout, Claudio Benedetti thanked all his fans and promised he'd do even better in his next fight. The crowd seemed to love his humility.
