PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Detektyw Pikachu (ranked 3625 p4p, 375 weight class) and David Carter (ranked 5413 p4p, 459 weight class). On his way into the cage it seems that Detektyw Pikachu has been attacked by a crazed fan! It looks like it might have been the just bleed guy! Luckily Detektyw Pikachu seems to be OK! I thought that lunatic was in prison!?

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
A punch combination from Carter misses.
Pikachu is looking to counter the offense by Carter and move into the clinch.
Carter stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Carter wants it to stay on the feet.
Pikachu shoots in for a takedown but Carter shows good takedown defense.
Carter throws out a counter right but Pikachu avoids it with no problem.
Carter throws a hard body shot but it just misses.
Pikachu attempts a counter takedown but Carter avoids it well and moves away.

That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Detektyw Pikachu. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Nice defenses there by Carter.
Pikachu shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Carter but Carter pushes him off and we're back to square one.
Pikachu throws a leg kick that is checked
and Pikachu takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles.
Pikachu gets his head snapped back by a nice shot there.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Pikachu tries to drive through with a takedown attempt but Carter defends well and Pikachu ends up having to push Carter into the cage where they will battle it out in the clinch.
A nice side step and Carter releases a counter shot to the body, but it doesn't find it's home.
Pikachu tries to score a power double leg takedown but Carter sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Pikachu somewhat.
Carter throws out a counter right but Pikachu avoids it with no problem.

A punch lands to the side of Pikachu 's head but he takes it in his stride.

Detektyw Pikachu seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Carter connects with a crisp jab.
Carter uses good footwork to get in and out and land a nice right hand before Pikachu has time to react.

Pikachu is looking light on his feet compared to last time was saw him fight.
Pikachu shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Carter as he avoids it easily.
Carter scores with a crisp jab that stopped Pikachu in his tracks.

Pikachu is rocked!

It looks like Detektyw Pikachu has been cut.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Carter scores with a decent looking hook.
Oh Pikachu is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Carter scores with a big left there. The judges will like that one.
BOOM! Carter lands a beautiful left hook that drops Pikachu. Pikachu tries to recover but Carter is having none of it, landing more punishing shots from mount. One final crushing shot and Pikachu lies motionless on the canvas. The fight is over!
