Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Mikey Vicious (ranked 4655 p4p, 446 weight class) and Eric Reid (ranked 24660 p4p, 0 weight class). Eric Reid will no doubt be trying to keep this one on the feet, where he has a distinct advantage.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Reid shoots for a takedown but Vicious saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily.
Vicious scores with a jab to the jaw of his opponent.
Reid shoots and misses

and Vicious holds on and brings the fighters into a clinch.
Vicious keeps control of Reid as he tries to wriggle out of the double underhooks.
Reid prevents a takedown attempt there.
Vicious is trying to pull guard but Reid has him pressed against the cage.

Vicious darts in and clinches Reid up against the cage.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Reid postures up and scores with a shot to the body and a follow up elbow to the head.
A real slowdown in the pace of the fight for a moment, as Vicious holds on and takes a little breather.
Reid wants to stand but Vicious is controlling his posture from full guard.

Vicious knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Reid on the ground.
Vicious has a closed guard, preventing anything of note from happening. Perhaps he's looking to stall.

Reid stands and steps away. Vicious gets to his feet too and we're back to the striking game.

No luck with that takedown attempt from Reid.

Vicious has managed to clinch.

Vicious has dropped down and is working for a takedown. Reid is trying to keep an underhook but Vicious manages to get the takedown into half guard.

The fighters are starting to get sweaty, which will make takedowns a bit more tricky.

Reid is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.
Vicious is working the ground and pound from guard. He might want to try advancing position though to get more of an impact.

Reid is rocked!
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Reid pushes Vicious off and gets back to his feet.

Reid gets taken down but at least he's managed to land in guard.

Vicious connects with a couple of short punches.
Vicious keeps in close for a moment and lands a decent shot to the side of Reid's head.
Vicious gets to his feet and stands over Reid, holding his ankles. He dives in with a big left hand that connects! Reid felt that one! Vicious unloads more punches and elbows and this one is over! The ref has dived in to save Reid from any more punishment!
