Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Billy Wallace!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Donald Cerrone!
The judges for this bout are Jack Bonds, Timothy Bukovac and Frank Antenori.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Wallace misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.
Cerrone tries to close the distance and clinch but Wallace swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.
Cerrone tries to clinch up but Wallace circles away and keeps his distance.
No joy there for Wallace, who threw a few shots but didn't land.
Cerrone looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily.
Wallace tries to close the distance and clinch up but Cerrone swats him away and circles back towards the center.
Cerrone tries to clinch there but Wallace circles away.
Cerrone tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion.

Wallace gets a takedown into half guard.
Cerrone is trying to stand.

Wallace postures up and decides to stand up, from the half guard. The ref calls for Cerrone to stand up.

Wallace drives through and clinches with Cerrone against the cage.

Cerrone jumps guard but his hands slip and he falls flat on his back. Well, he's made himself look a right mug there, as Wallace walks away with a smile on his face. Cerrone gets slowly back to his feet and shakes his head.

Billy Wallace has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Donald Cerrone.
Cerrone keeps control of Wallace as he tries to wriggle out of the double underhooks.

Wallace wants to get back to striking at distance but Cerrone won't allow it.
A real battle for position is taking place between these two warriors.

Wallace's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.

Wallace throws a blind hook that connects with the side of Cerrones head.

Cerrone tries to keep at a distance but Wallace has taken the fight into the clinch.
Cerrone tries to pull guard but Wallace holds him up against the cage and eventually Cerrone drops back down to his feet.

Cerrone is rocked!


It looks like Donald Cerrone has been cut.

Wallace fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Cerrone, pushing him back against the cage.
Cerrone is still on wobbly legs! Can Wallace finish him?
Wallace lands a body punch in the clinch.
Cerrone seems to have recovered his senses.

Wallace lands on the inside with an uppercut.

Cerrone jumps guard but his hands slip and he falls flat on his back. Well, he's made himself look a right mug there, as Wallace walks away with a smile on his face. Cerrone gets slowly back to his feet and shakes his head.
Wallace throws a combination. Cerrone tries to block but a couple of punches get through.
Wallace bobs and weaves and throws out a fast jab that snaps Cerrone's head backwards.

Wallace shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Cerrone's guard.

Wallace gets to his feet - Cerrone follows without any prompting.

Wallace clinches with his opponent.

Wallace manages to break the clinch.

Wallace looking to shoot here. He's gone for it and he's landed a takedown into mount! Oh, that's bad for Cerrone!
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Cerrone is trying to escape but when you're mounted that's not too easy.

The fighters are going at a pretty good pace and they're both starting to sweat now.
Cerrone trying desperately to get to his feet.
Cerrone is working to get back to half guard.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
Cerrone tries to lock up and control but Wallace gives him a forearm to the face and pushes him away.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!



Wallace instigates a clinch.
Wallace will no doubt start fighting again in a minute but for now he's just having a little rest, leaning Cerrone up against the cage.

Wallace clinches up with Cerrone and pushes him back against the cage.

Wallace throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.
Wallace swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.
Wallace throws a nice looking combination but Cerrone bobs and weaves to avoid any damage.
Cerrone is breathing heavily.
Wallace throws a decent looking leg kick but it doesn't land clean.

A short body shot lands from Wallace as the two fighters clinch.

Wallace pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.

Wallace digs a good body shot into Cerrone's ribs.
Cerrone keeps the fight on the outside.
Wallace wings a very wild body shot but it does the job and lands to the midsection.

Wallace is looking to wear down Cerrone with body shots, infact he's throwing more body shots than head shots at the moment.

Wallace shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in full mount! That's better than Wallace was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure!
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.

So, who will make the next big move? In this position it could be crucial.
