PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Sisu Sisu (ranked 630 p4p, 72 weight class) and Bruce Chang (ranked 1154 p4p, 137 weight class). Bruce Chang will no doubt be trying to keep this one on the feet, where he has a distinct advantage.

The judges for this bout are Bruno Hogan, Damien Edna and Winston Howard.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Sisu just misses with a punch to the body.
It seemed like Chang was going to counter with the hook but didn't fully commit to it.
Chang throws an uppercut from half a mile away. Sisu sees it coming and avoids it easily.
Sisu fails miserably with a takedown attempt.
Chang feints a counter leg kick.
Sisu tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Chang was well out of range. Poor timing from Sisu.

Sisu has been working on his boxing with his coaches at Triple XXX in the buildup to the fight.
Chang motions for Sisu to come forward. Chang throws a leg kick but it misses it's target.

Sisu's ground tactics aren't going to win him many fans. Let's hope he's got fireworks for us if he gets back to his feet because he's not doing much on the ground.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.
Chang is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.

We must be close to a standup if these guys don't pick up the pace.

The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up. He just wasn't happy with the level of activity.

Chang swings wildly with a couple of big hooks

and Sisu counters with a nice double leg into side control. Chang won't be happy with that.

We've had a lack of effective grappling in the last minute or so, which could well see a referee standup.

Sisu remains in side control and seems content to stay there. It's a versatile position from which he can work both strikes and submissions, whilst maintaining that control, so maybe he'll sit here for a while.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

That was a close second round but I would say that Sisu Sisu will probably get the nod.
The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action! This is the final round!

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.

Sisu shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Chang sprawls well. Chang wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Sisu gets slowly back to his feet.

Bruce Chang seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Sisu has his hands up protecting his head but a hook from Chang finds it's way round the side to connect with Sisu's head.

Sisu shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. Chang defends it nicely.
Sisu changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Chang tries to avoid it but Sisu manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Chang to the ground. Chang escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.

That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to Sisu Sisu.
Well I reckon that's a shut out for Sisu, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
