The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Smith thows a left - swing and a miss!
Smith lands a nice hook to Bot's body. Bot takes it in his stride and looks to land his own strikes.
Smith lands a nice leg kick that just misses Bot's sensitive parts.
Smith connects with a nice looking jab.
A nice leg kick lands there from Smith.
Smith scores with a hook to the body. Bot takes a step back and tries to catch his breath.
Bot steps to the side to avoid the strikes from Smith.
Smith pulls out of a head kick attempt.
Bot throws out a counter right but Smith avoids it with no problem.
Bot throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Smith.
Smith tried to counter with a leg kick but Bot avoided it.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Bot uses decent footwork to sidestep a right hand from Smith.
John Smith seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Nice uppercut lands for Smith. That snapped Bot's head back.
Smith lands a leg kick. The shin dug right into the meat of the thigh.
Smith connects with a good right hand that stumbles Bot. Bot circles away out of range and recomposes himself.

Smith misses with an uppercut. Bot saw that one coming.
Bot throws out a counter right but Smith avoids it with no problem.
Smith scores with a reasonable looking shot to the body. Bot doesn't seem bothered though.
Bot's hands are dropping dangerously low here and Smith connects clean with a right hook that sends him down to one knee! Bot scrambles back to his feet.
A right-left combo lands from Smith.
Smith throws a quick inside leg kick.
Smith tests Bot's chin there with a solid looking shot.
Smith throws the left hand but Bot avoids the punch easily.
Smith feints and then cracks Bot's leading leg with a nice low kick. He's obviously looking to slow Bot down.
Smith misses the jab.
Bot will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.
Smith misses with a straight left.
Bot throws a counter combo.
Smith misses with an uppercut.
Bot is loading up here, looking for a big counter of his own.

This has been an exciting period of action!
Smith misses with a looping left.
A good leg kick by Smith.
Bot moves out of range as Smith strikes.
Smith scores with a slapping inside leg kick.
Bot misses with an uppercut. Smith saw that one coming.
Smith lands with a cross.
Smith thumps Bot with a low kick.
Smith lunges in with an uppercut that skims his opponent's chin.
A jab lands there for Smith.
Smith throws a jab, cross combination which is slipped
and Bot counters with a three punch combo that has Smith backing up. Smith nods at Bot to acknowledge the strikes.
Smith missing with a left hand there. Bot was out of range so wasted energy throwing that one.
Smith slips in close and lands a nice hook before moving back out of range.

Oooooh!!! Smith has knocked Bot down with a huge combo! Smith steps away and waves a wobbly Bot back to his feet! This one might not go much longer!

Bot is rocked!

Smith feints and then winds up with a huge right hand that connects perfectly and sends Bot sprawling to the canvas! Bot rolls over backwards and springs off the cage and manages to regain his footing - how acrobatic! Oh, he's still wobbly - can Smith finish him?!
Bot is still on wobbly legs! Can Smith finish him?
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Smith lunges in with a left hook that violently twists Bot head around and knocks him out cold! Smith hops onto the cage and yells out at the top of his lungs - Yeeeeeeeeaaaaaaaaah! They're showing the replay on the big screens now; that was nasty! I hope one of the photographers got a good shot of it.
