Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 4 - 1 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Jose Angel Diaz!
The judges for this bout are Daniel Franklin, David Hoff and Peter Branson.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Jab by Diaz.


It looks like Fy Ter has been cut.
Diaz misses with a series of wild punches.
Diaz throws a combination that misses

and Ter counters with a single leg into guard. Diaz didn't expect that.
Diaz is looking to stand back up but Ter counters by passing into half guard. Oops... bit sloppy there by Diaz.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Ter postures up and decides to stand up, from the half guard. The ref calls for Diaz to stand up.
Diaz throws a left and a right that both miss

and Ter counters with a nice double leg into guard.
Diaz is looking to stand back up... there's a bit of a scramble and Ter dives into side control.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Diaz is trying to stand back up. He's worked his way up against the cage but Ter has just dragged him back down to the mat.

Ter decides to stand up, so the ref orders Diaz to his feet.

Ter drives through with a takedown into Diaz's guard. Let's see what he can do from the top position.

Diaz tries to bum rush Ter with a series of wild strikes but Ter uses good footwork to avoid the assault.
Ter doesn't manage to clinch there - Diaz circles away.
Sloppy strikes from Diaz. Those never looked like landing.
Diaz misses with a double jab.
Diaz fails to land with a series of punches.

Oooh a lovely combination from Diaz sends Ter down but not out. Diaz dives into side control looking to finish.

This has been an exciting period of action!
Diaz tries to get to his feet but Ter is in the middle of advancing position himself and ends up with Diaz in his guard.
Oh Ter is still in real trouble! Will he be able to recover?!!
There's a bit of a scramble here and now Ter is on top in guard.

Ter seems to have got his legs back now.
Ter is stalling in the full guard.
The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.
Ter trying to control the position from guard on top but Diaz is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
Diaz wants to stand up but Ter is controlling him.

Ter stands up and waves to Diaz to follow him.
Diaz throws a right hand that Ter ducks under and follows up with a left that Ter also avoids with ease.
Diaz throws a couple of head shots and lands with the final one - a decent hook, which struck Ter on the side of the head.

Ter gets a takedown into half guard.
Diaz wants to get back to his feet.
Ter trying to pass the guard but Diaz defending well.
Ter wants to take a breather but Diaz is having none of it.
Diaz is looking to escape.
Diaz wants to stand back up but Ter manages to pass into side control.

Ter is trying to get an arm triangle but Diaz is defending well.
Ter is breathing heavily.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Ter is looking for a kimura but Diaz is holding onto that half guard position, so it's hard for Ter to get the leverage.

Diaz is staying active underneath Ter, who seems content to just control the action from this position.

Fy Ter overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.
Diaz wants to stand back up but Ter manages to pass into side control.

Ter working hard here to secure a kimura but he's not really in the right position for it.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
Diaz pushes Ter away and creates a bit of space to escape. He's almost out here... but no, Ter gets a good hold of his legs and remains firmly in side control.

Ter is looking to finish here, going for an Americana. Diaz knows the correct defense though, so he's OK.
Diaz wants to get back to his feet.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.
Diaz bucks up and tries to throw Ter off but instead Ter has got his back!

Ter has his hand under the chin of his opponent looking for the choke. He's nearly got it! This one could be all over! But no, Diaz has freed his hand and lives to survive another… well, another couple of seconds at least!

Ter is persistently looking for the submission but Diaz is defending it well.

Ter has good solid back control here.
Diaz is trying to get back to his feet but Ter has full control of the position and if anything, Diaz has just worked his way into a worse spot.

Ter appears to be looking for a counter takedown.

Ter shoots in for a takedown and gets it.
Diaz is trying to escape back to his feet but Ter uses the scramble to pass into side control.
Diaz is trying to buck Ter off.

Diaz explodes and escapes back to his feet! Nice escape there!

Diaz drops Ter with a right and a left! Diaz comes rushing in but Ter regains his composure and manages to keep Diaz in guard.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Diaz is looking to stand up but Ter won't let him.

Ter has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Diaz can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.
Both fighters are breathing heavily.

Diaz gets to his feet - Ter follows without any prompting.
Diaz lands with a cross to side of his opponent's head.
Fy Ter is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.
Diaz wobbles Ter with a right hand and the left hook that follows puts him on his rear! Diaz dives in with a huge flying punch that connects right on the button and puts Ter to sleep! - What a violent and spectacular finish!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:39 of round 3, we have a winner by way of KO (Punches). Jose Angel Diaz!
