PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Jungle Prince (ranked 7416 p4p, 0 weight class) and Chief Tomahawk (ranked 6336 p4p, 0 weight class). Chief Tomahawk told me before the fight that he's been watching a lot of DVDs so let's see if that helps him in this one! I can't wait to find out!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 14 - 11 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Jungle Prince!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 4 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Chief Tomahawk!
The judges for this bout are Tiny Johnson, Chris Downing and Stewart Dunkirk.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Prince takes a big uppercut there. He seems a bit wobbly but no, he's OK.
A big right from Tomahawk misses.
Tomahawk lands with a straight right. Prince didn't see that one coming.
Wow, both these guys are really going for it!
Prince ducks under a wild hook from Tomahawk.
Tomahawk tries to bum rush Prince with a series of wild strikes but Prince uses good footwork to avoid the assault.
Tomahawk throws a lazy uppercut

and Prince counters into the clinch. Nicely done.
Prince fails to pull the fight into his guard.

Prince's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.
Tomahawk circles away from the clinch attempt.
Tomahawk will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.
Prince takes one on the chin but keeps coming.
Prince has his hands up protecting his head but a hook from Tomahawk finds it's way round the side to connect with Prince's head.
Tomahawk has used his reach advantage pretty well so far tonight.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Prince tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Tomahawk paws at him with a jab and circles away.
Tomahawk fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Prince manages to avoid it.

Prince darts in and clinches Tomahawk up against the cage.
Prince doesn't land with the attempted body shot.

That's one minute gone in the round.

Tomahawk breaks from the clinch.
Prince tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Tomahawk paws at him with a jab and circles away.
Tomahawk scores with a nice strike.
Prince tries to close the distance and clinch but Tomahawk swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.

Tomahawk takes the fight into the clinch.

Tomahawk's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.
Tomahawk feints a straight left to the body, then turns around with a flashy move and hits Princes jaw with a dramatic spinning back fist!
Prince wants to clinch.
Tomahawk throws a counter combo.
Prince is looking to clinch but Tomahawk is avoiding it.
Tomahawk misses with a two punch combination.
Prince fails in his attempt to clinch.
Tomahawk connects with the punch.
Tomahawk smiles there as he lands a nice right hand right on the button.


Prince is rocked!

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Prince moves in looking to clinch but Tomahawk pushes him off.
Oh Prince is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!
Prince dips down and scores with a jab to the body.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Tomahawk thows a left - swing and a miss!
Prince seems to have got his legs back now.
Prince doesn't manage to clinch there - Tomahawk circles away.
Prince tries to clinch there but Tomahawk circles away.

Prince has taken the fight to the clinch.
Prince can't break the clinch.
Tomahawk blocks a knee to the body. He'll have a nicely bruised forearm in the morning.

Tomahawk manages to break the clinch.

Prince fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Tomahawk, pushing him back against the cage.

Prince escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.

Tomahawk cracks Prince with a big right hand that sends him to the floor! Prince looks wobbly but he's sprung back up to his feet straight away… can Tomahawk finish him?
Prince fails with an attempt to clinch.
Prince keeping his hands up high there, blocking the jab from Tomahawk.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Tomahawk cracks Prince with a nasty uppercut that draws ooohs from the crowd and sends Prince tumbling backwards onto the mat. He tries to recover but Tomahawk pounces and lands a hail of unanswered strikes that forces the referee to step in to end the fight! Prince is not happy but he gave the referee no choice!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:06 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Chief Tomahawk!
