Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the super heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Sampsa Pusilla!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Tedy CC!
The judges for this bout are Viktor Lagutenko, Konstantin Menshow and Vladimir Khabensky.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
CC shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Pusilla pinned against the cage. Pusilla gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.
Pusilla misses with a kick to the body.

Pusilla closes the distance and gets a double leg, slamming CC to the mat! CC manages to get full guard.

CC looking for submissions from the bottom here. Moving his hips around, possibly looking for an armbar.
We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if CC can do anything to dispel that myth.
Pusilla slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up.
Pusilla's ground tactics aren't going to win him many fans. Let's hope he's got fireworks for us if he gets back to his feet because he's not doing much on the ground.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Pusilla is looking to work some ground and pound but CC has wrist control.

The ref stands the fighters back up due to a lack of activity.
Pusilla throws a hard body shot but it just misses.
CC avoids the clinch attempt nicely.
CC circles away from the clinch attempt.
CC changes levels for a counter takedown but doesn't follow through with his attempt.
CC throws a head kick that misses.
CC shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Pusilla but Pusilla pushes him off and we're back to square one.

Pusilla tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in to close the distance. CC manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat.

CC moves into the clinch.
Pusilla keeps control of CC as he tries to wriggle out of the double underhooks.

Pusilla turns his back and goes for a hip toss. It's a bit messy but it gets the job done and Pusilla manages to end up in side control.
Pusilla misses with the ground and pound.
Pusilla wants to stand but CC is controlling his arm.

Pusilla in side control, throwing shots but CC defends.
Pusilla working away diligently from side control. Landing strikes effectively there - that will score him some points on the judges scorecards.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Pusilla wants to stand but CC has his arm trapped.
CC is trying to work for a sweep but Pusilla has mounted him!
Pusilla has his opponent pinned against the cage, landing some nasty ground and pound that is really making a bit of a mess out of CC's face.
Pusilla lands an elbow that was bordering on illegal but the referee lets it go with a warning.
Pusilla tucks in and makes sure he doesn't lose the dominant position.
CC really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Pusilla. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
CC tries to lock up and control but Pusilla gives him a forearm to the face and pushes him away.
Pusilla controlling the pace for now.
The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.
Pusilla is landing with some decent strikes but CC is trying to advance his position so the referee is letting the fight continue.

Pusilla lands a shot to the body, followed up by a shot to the exposed head of his trapped opponent.


CC is rocked!
Pusilla avoids the attempt from CC to control.

Pusilla jumps to side control looking for an arm triangle but CC manages to avoid the submission attempt.
Pusilla has knee on belly and moves into mount.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
CC is looking to get to half guard.
Pusilla has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.

CC misses with a takedown attempt

so Pusilla counters with a double leg into guard. Good agility.

CC looking for submissions from the bottom here. Moving his hips around, possibly looking for an armbar.

CC is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Pusilla defends well.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

CC working for a triangle but Pusilla defends it easily.

Pusilla's corner is telling him to maintain position.
Pusilla has controlled the position for a good 20 seconds, which will no doubt be starting to frustrate his opponent.

The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up. He just wasn't happy with the level of activity.

CC drops down and drives through with a powerful takedown into guard.

Pusilla is pulling down on CC's head to control his posture.

CC is holding a leg here, probably looking for an ankle lock - he drops back and goes for it! Pusilla is in trouble! Is it all over??? No! Pusilla has escaped and now he's on top!

Pusilla seems content to control from guard here. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up.
CC is trying to keep Pusilla in close.
Sampsa Pusilla overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.

CC tries to land a sweep but no joy.
CC working a defensive guard but Pusilla manages to pass into side control anyway.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
CC is positioning himself to get back to half guard.
Pusilla advances nicely into full mount.

Pusilla takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though.

This is a sustained period of stalling by Pusilla.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!
CC tries to hold on but Pusilla pushes him away.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business. This is the final round!


CC shoots in and drives through. Pusilla sprawls well.
CC tries to land a front kick but Pusilla steps back. That was a bit too telegraphed.
CC lands a jab, followed by a cross and another cross, as Pusilla backs up against the cage.
CC goes for a double leg but Pusilla avoids the attempt and the two fighters end up clinched against the cage as Pusilla continues to drive forward.
CC misses with a takedown attempt - Pusilla sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses.
Sampsa Pusilla has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Tedy CC.

CC wants to control but Pusilla is keeping busy and won't allow it.

Pusilla seems to have a rather negative gameplan on the ground. He seems keen to just score the takedown and hold down CC for as long as he can get away with.

CC is looking for a sweep. Pusilla is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.
CC is in trouble now - Pusilla has advanced to mount!

A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.

Pusilla goes for an armbar but CC turns quickly into his guard - lovely anticipation from CC.

CC has decided he wants to stand but the closed guard of Pusilla is proving hard to escape from.

Well I reckon that's a shut out for Pusilla, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
