Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Les Lyon (ranked 4729 p4p, 0 weight class) and John Lesnar (ranked 4755 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Les Lyon!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of The Island, John Lesnar!
The judges for this bout are Daniel Franklin, Bart Greer and Winston Alpacca.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Lyon pulls out of a head kick attempt.
Lyon shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Lesnar as he jumps to the side.
No luck for Lesnar with that takedown attempt.
Lyon throws a half hearted mid kick.
A left and a right from Lyon both land. Nice combination.
Lyon will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts.
Lesnar throws a head kick but Lyon moves out of range.
Lyon half committed to a counter leg kick.

Lesnar shoots in and scores a nice double leg takedown into half guard.

Lyon is looking to sinch up a guillotine here but Lesnar pulls his head out easily.
Lesnar prevents Lyon from improving his position.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Lyon gets back to full guard.
Lesnar controls from within his opponent's guard.
Lyon is trying to keep Lesnar in close.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action.

Lesnar is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there.
Lesnar is just sitting in guard, looking to avoid any submissions.
Lyon can't keep his opponent in guard - Lesnar advances to half guard, no doubt looking to mount.
Lyon wants to get back to full guard.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Well, if Lesnar is going to just lie there, perhaps we should talk about what we're having for dinner tonight… I'm having a ham and pineapple pizza… Yum. Can't wait.
The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.
Lyon is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.

The referee has stepped in and called for a break in the action. We'll restart on the feet.
Lyon moves in looking to clinch but Lesnar pushes him off.
Lyon misses with a leg kick

and Lesnar counters with a single leg into guard. Lyon didn't expect that.
Lesnar wants to control from the top but Lyon keeps moving.

Lyon working a defensive guard but Lesnar manages to pass into side control anyway.
Lyon is trying to improve his position.
Lyon wants to control but Lesnar postures up.
Lesnar lands a knee to the body and follows it up with some ground and pound to the head. That will wear Lyon down.
Lesnar is chipping away with strikes.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
Lesnar controlling the position.
Lesnar tries to get to his feet but he's trapped momentarily.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

John Lesnar dominated that round.
The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action!


Lyon throws a right and a left that Lesnar avoids nicely.
Lyon tries to clinch but Lesnar is having none of it.
Lesnar wants to counter the offense by Lyon and move into the clinch position.
Lyon circles away from the clinch attempt
and Lyon counters with a kick to the head that grazes his opponent. Lesnar is lucky that one didn't land flush.
Lesnar should think about turning a few of those tyres round his middle into muscle if he wants people to take him seriously as an athlete.
Lesnar defends well against a solid takedown attempt from Lyon.
Lesnar throws a leg kick but Lyon checks it.

Lesnar looking to score a takedown here. Lyon is defending well but Lesnar drives through and ends up in Lyon's guard.
Lesnar is pushing down on Lyon's leg trying to pass to half guard. Lyon is fighting to maintain full guard but Lesnar has managed to sneak the leg through.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Lesnar tries to stand and escape but Lyon is controlling the position.
Lesnar wants to stand up but Lyon manages to regain full guard.
Lyon keeping moving, preventing Lesnar from controlling successfully.

Lyon is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.
Lesnar seems content to control from guard here. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up.
John Lesnar has got the better of the ground game so far.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.
Lesnar trying to control but Lyon is working from the bottom.
Lesnar slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up.

Lyon is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Lesnar defends well.

The referee has stepped in and called for a break in the action. We'll restart on the feet.

Lesnar closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard.

Lesnar is looking for a kimura. It's going to be difficult to finish that from half guard though and Lyon defends it well.
Lesnar has been the more effective fighter overall so far.
Lesnar throwing shots but they're hitting the canvas more than the man.
Neither fighter is being very active at the moment, with Lesnar in particular looking to stall.
Lesnar is keen to just control but Lyon is a slippery customer.
Lesnar working over Lyon with some ground and pound. Lyon looks like he wants out of this position, which is understandable.
Lyon trying to hold on to Lesnar's head to control him but Lesnar postures up.

A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.
Lyon is looking to get back to is feet but Lesnar passes into side control.
The referee asks Lesnar politely if he wouldn't mind getting on with it and actually doing something. Lesnar prefers to stall for the moment though.
You can see the frustration on Lyon's face, being in this tough position on the bottom.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Lyon is going to have to think about doing something other than just controlling because Lesnar is managing to avoid having the position dictated to him.
The referee tells the fighters to keep busy.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!
Lyon gets back to half guard.

Lesnar is thinking about going for an arm triangle but he can't free his leg.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

John Lesnar showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action. This is the final round!

Lesnar's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.
Lyon tries to clinch up.

Lyon shoots in for a takedown from distance. He catches Lesnar napping and manages to drive through into side control!
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Lesnar tries to buck Lyon off but Lyon is having none of it.

Lyon looking for an arm triangle but it's way too loose to do anything.
Lyon sitting in side control, looking to soften his opponent up with elbows and hammerfists but Lesnar is avoiding damage well and looking to escape the position.
Lyon tries to move into full mount but can't pass Lesnar's legs.

Lyon working hard here to secure a kimura but he's not really in the right position for it.
Lesnar sneaks a leg under to get back to half guard.

The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action.
Lesnar holds on for dear life, maintaining half guard for now.
Lesnar is trying to stand back up but Lyon is controlling him
Lyon trying to mount his opponent but Lesnar defends it.
Lesnar is looking to improve his position.
We must be close to a standup if these guys don't pick up the pace.
Lyon lands with an elbow from half guard - that looked like it hurt.
Lesnar tries to push off, looking to stand up, but Lyon manages to move to mount!

Lyon with a couple of short strikes.
Lyon trying to control but he's not successful this time.
Lyon postures up and cracks his opponent a couple of times before moving back into close ground control. Lesnar looks a forlorn figure.
Lyon wants to control the pace but Lesnar is squirming around nicely.
Lesnar really trying hard to get back to half guard here.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Lesnar gets back to half guard.
Lyon not throwing his punches with enough precision this time.
We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Lesnar can do anything to dispel that myth.
Lesnar controlling the leg, holding on to half guard.

Lyon stands, ready to strike. The ref makes him back up and allows Lesnar to get to his feet.

And that's the end of the fight!
Les Lyon showed his dominance in that final round.
I think Lesnar has won this one but let's see whether the judges agree with me. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
