Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Rou Joukani (ranked 1457 p4p, 195 weight class) and Robert Brunson (ranked 7006 p4p, 546 weight class). Brunson is bouncing up and down as he enters the arena, backed by Flinstones Theme Song. Fingers crossed for an exciting fight - I'm sure both fighters are looking for a nice under the table bonus!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Joukani throws a right hand that Brunson ducks under and follows up with a left that Brunson also avoids with ease.
Joukani misses with a two punch combination.
Brunson shoots in but doesn't get the takedown
and Joukani counters with a straight right hand.
Joukani tries a switch kick but it misses it's target.
Brunson tries a counter takedown but it's more of a dummy move, and he uses it to push himself away.
Joukani lands with a kick to the temple. Brunson shrugs as if to say "is that all you've got?"
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Joukani lands a powerful looking uppercut that connected with his opponent's jaw.

I was talking to Joukani's coach per-fight and he was telling me that they'd been working on the clinch in the runup to this fight.

Joukani lands punches inside but they're not really causing much damage.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Brunson has Joukani pressed up against the cage and is working for takedown. Joukani manages to improve position though and keeps the fight standing.
Rou Joukani has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Robert Brunson.

Brunson walks straight into a jab right on the nose. That one stung - he's blinking and trying to clear his head.

Joukani moves into range and clinches up with Brunson.
With the fighters clinched against the cage, Joukani creates a bit of distance for himself and scores with a nice uppercut.
Joukani lands with a short shot to the head.

The crowd applaud the fighters' efforts here as the round comes to an end.

Joukani lands a big head kick that sends Brunson tumbling to the mat! Joukani takes a step backwards and waves Brunson back to his feet - he wants the finish!

Brunson is rocked!

Joukani fakes with a right hand and throws a good leg kick, right into the thigh. That had to hurt Brunson.

Joukani throws a sloppy head kick and Brunson moves out of range easily.
Joukani connects with a right that clearly hurt Brunson. He's backed up against the cage with nowhere to go as Joukani proceeds to tee off with vicious combinations till Brunson collapses and taps out under the pressure!

A very excited looking Rou Joukani rambled incoherently for about 5 minutes post fight about how awesome he is. It was kinda funny for a while but then everyone got annoyed.
