PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Donald Ducking (ranked 5876 p4p, 0 weight class) and Kojo Marley (ranked 4123 p4p, 0 weight class). Ducking comes to the cage accompanied by Somke cut. The key to victory for Donald Ducking has got to be keeping the fight on the feet.

Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of London, Donald Ducking!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of London, Kojo Marley!
The judges for this bout are Donald Grub, James Ackerman and Andrew Berry.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Ducking tries to clinch up.
Marley is loading up here, looking for a big counter of his own.
No luck for Marley with that takedown attempt.
Marley shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Ducking as he avoids it easily.
Marley showing good head movement there, avoiding the strikes from Ducking.
Marley comes forward and lands a shot to the body, then darts back out of range.
Marley shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Ducking pinned against the cage. Ducking gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.
Donald Ducking has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Kojo Marley.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Ducking tries to keep at a distance but Marley has taken the fight into the clinch.

Marley escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.

Marley with the counter takedown but Ducking avoids it easily.
Marley keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl.
Ducking stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Ducking wants it to stay on the feet.
Marley darts in looking for a takedown but Ducking gets double underhooks and turns Marley into the cage.

Ducking fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Marley avoids it really well and circles away.

Marley just manages to avoid a counter high kick fromDucking.

Marley works Ducking's body with a nice hook.

Marley drives through and clinches with Ducking against the cage.
Ducking is trying to force a seperation but Marley has the dominant position.

Marley drags the fight down to the ground.
Ducking looking to sit in guard and control but Marley gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top.

Marley trying to land body shots but he keeps hitting the mat.

Marley drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Marley jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.

Ducking is working an open guard so Marley takes the opportunity to get back to his feet.

Marley shoots in but Ducking avoids the takedown attempt easily.
Ducking appears to be looking for a counter takedown.

Marley gets a clinch.
Marley goes for a body shot but it's blocked.

Marley pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.

and Marley holds on and brings the fighters into a clinch.
Both fighters working to control the clinch.

Ducking is trying to maintain a safe position but Marley gets an underhook and turns Ducking into the cage.
Ducking is trying to pull guard but Marley has him pressed against the cage.
Ducking is breathing heavily.

Marley is trying to drag Ducking to the mat but Ducking just about manages to keep his footing. He used the cage to his advantage there.
Ducking is trying to work for a single leg takedown but Marley pulls him back up using the underhooks.
Marley should think about turning a few of those tyres round his middle into muscle if he wants people to take him seriously as an athlete.

Marley breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.

Marley clinches with his opponent.
Marley tries for a takedown but Ducking manages to get underhooks.
The two fighters are working to gain dominance in the clinch.
Marley lands with a short shot to the head.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
Marley stalls.
Ducking lands punches inside but they're not really causing much damage.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Kojo Marley dominated that round.
That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.



Marley has Ducking up against the cage in a clinch.

Marley decides to pull guard.

Marley is looking for a triangle but Ducking pushes his legs off easily.
Marley is pulling down on Ducking's head. It's preventing any offense from Ducking, at least for the moment.
Ducking trying to control but Marley is working from the bottom.
Marley has been the more effective fighter overall so far.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Marley pulls Ducking in close to prevent any damage.

Marley lands a beautiful sweep and he's now moved into his opponent's guard.

Ducking is trying to control the position from the bottom.

Marley gets to his feet and steps away from his opponent.
Ducking stuffs the takedown.

No luck for Marley with that takedown attempt.

Marley clinches with his opponent.

Marley gets control of Ducking's arms and successfully pulls guard. Marley will no doubt be looking for submissions off his back.
Marley lands a beautiful sweep and he's now moved into his opponent's guard.

Ducking has an omoplata and is looking to use it perhaps as a submission or perhaps to transition. Marley is in a bit of discomfort here, but he's managed to free himself and has dived into side control! That didn't work out too well for Ducking.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

Marley working hard here to secure a kimura but he's not really in the right position for it.

Marley is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but Ducking is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now.

Marley decides to take the fight back to the feet.

Marley's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.
Ducking shoots for a takedown but Marley saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily.
We're hearing some news coming in from back stage. It's official - Marley has eaten all the pies!
Ducking throws a low kick, looking for Marley's leg but Marley calmly moves out of range.
Donald Ducking is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.
Marley lands a body shot.
Marley closes the distance and clinches up with Ducking, looking for a takedown. Marley pushes Ducking against the cage but Ducking circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.
Donald Ducking has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Kojo Marley.
Ducking defends well against a solid takedown attempt from Marley.
Marley lands a leg kick that knocks Ducking off balance momentarily.
Marley has a takedown stuffed.
Ducking appears to be looking for a big counter.
No luck with that takedown attempt from Marley.

Ducking tries to drive through with a takedown attempt but Marley defends well and Ducking ends up having to push Marley into the cage where they will battle it out in the clinch.

Kojo Marley showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business. And we move into the final round!

and Marley holds on and brings the fighters into a clinch.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Donald Ducking. That's going to take a lot out of him.

A right hook to the body lands for Marley.
Marley lands an uppercut.

Marley manages to break the clinch.
Marley closes the distance and clinches up with Ducking, looking for a takedown. Marley pushes Ducking against the cage but Ducking circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.

Marley throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.

Ducking throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Marley's waist but Marley gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Ducking off to one side.

Ducking is working for takedown but Marley is calmly controlling the position for now.

Marley has a body lock and is looking for a takedown. Ducking is bouncing around trying to prevent the takedown and somehow he has indeed managed to stay on his feet.

Ducking has dropped down and is looking to force the takedown but it's defended by Marley after a bit of a struggle.

Marley is working for a takedown up against the cage. He can't get it on this occasion though.
Marley goes for a takedown attempt but Ducking pushes him away and we're back to fighting at a distance.

Marley shoots for a double leg takedown but Ducking sprawls well. He's pushed Marley's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.

Ducking seemed to be looking to counter by closing the distance.

Marley moves into the clinch.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!

Donald Ducking has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!
Kojo Marley is fighting for a decision - hopefully he's judged it right and he's actually winning the fight.

Kojo Marley comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
Well Marley has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
