PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Slash Slingin (ranked 1461 p4p, 185 weight class) and Lukas Chomsli (ranked 1266 p4p, 160 weight class). Slingin comes into the arena with Drop The World blaring out of the sound system. Both these guys have really solid chins. Will we see a standup war or will they both decide that a knockout is unlikely and try to win the fight elsewhere?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 7 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Slash Slingin!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 6 - 2 - 1, fighting out of Amsterdam, Lukas Chomsli!
The judges for this bout are William Peck, Yves DeLean and Gregory Folan.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Slingin ducks under a wild hook from Chomsli.

Excellent takedown into side control there by Slingin.

You can see the frustration on Chomsli's face as Slingin controls the position.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Chomsli is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.
Slingin takes advantage of the dominant position to land a couple of big hammer fists.

The two fighters exchange a few words. I couldn't hear what they were saying but maybe it's more fun if you make it up yourself. Slingin connects with a nice short shot to Chomsli's temple.
Chomsli is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.
Slingin tries to pass to full mount but Chomsli defends it.
Chomsli has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Slingin is working away from the top position though.

Slingin winds up and cracks Chomsli with a swinging punch to the side of the head.

Slingin is working hard to pass the guard. He's done it - he's now in full mount! Trouble for Chomsli!
Chomsli is trying to get back to his feet but can't.

It looks like Lukas Chomsli has been cut.
Slingin is still in mount, landing shots to his trapped opponent. Chomsli can't stay in a position like this for much longer.
The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.
Slingin controlling the pace for now.
Slingin lands a heavy elbow.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Slingin postures up and cracks his opponent a couple of times before moving back into close ground control. Chomsli looks a forlorn figure.

Slingin takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though.

Slingin tries to control but Chomsli wriggling away.
Chomsli wants to control but Slingin is having none of it.

That has opened up Lukas Chomsli's cut even more.
We've been hearing that Slingin has been drilling a lot of ground and pound in training, so let's see if he get the finish.

Slingin has his opponent pinned against the cage, landing some nasty ground and pound that is really making a bit of a mess out of Chomsli's face.
Slingin scores with a couple of good head shots there.

The cut above Lukas Chomsli's eye is starting to cause him problems now.
Chomsli is bucking up trying to escape but Slingin cracks him with another couple of good strikes.

And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action!


Chomsli displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from Slingin.
Slingin throws a big shot that misses.

and Slingin takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles.

Slash Slingin seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Slingin throws a jab but it's blocked by Chomsli.
Slingin is looking to score with low kicks.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Chomsli shoots in looking for a takedown but Slingin manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Chomsli's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away.
Slingin blocks a jab.

Slingin bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control.

Slingin wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by Chomsli, who protects the arm well.

Slash Slingin overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.
Chomsli is positioning himself to get back to half guard.
Slingin is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Chomsli can do to turn this around?

BOOM! Slingin connects with a massive shot to the dome!

Lukas Chomsli's cut is absolute horrible now. This looks like something out of a horror film with blood covering both fighters.

The referee calls the doctor in to look at Lukas Chomsli's cut. Oh no, the doctor has called an end to the bout!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:58 of round 2, we have a winner by way of TKO (Cut). Slash Slingin!
During a confident post fight interview, Slash Slingin thanked all his fans. He seemed very genuine when describing how motivated his fans keep him.
