The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Verhoeven misses with a hook.
Leumpei closes the distance but Verhoeven moves to the side
and Verhoeven counters with a straight right hand.
Verhoeven moves into range and throws a combination. A nice jab followed by a hook to the body.
Kula Leumpei seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Verhoeven avoids the head kick by Leumpei.
Leumpei throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.
Verhoeven throws a looping overhand right but Leumpei ducks down to avoid it.

Leumpei lands a big head kick that sends Verhoeven tumbling to the mat! Leumpei takes a step backwards and waves Verhoeven back to his feet - he wants the finish!

Verhoeven is rocked!

It looks like Alistair Verhoeven has been cut.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Leumpei throws a head kick but Verhoeven moves out of range.

Verhoeven lands a straight punch to the body, keeping Leumpei at a distance.
Verhoeven throws a body kick but he was well out of range there.
Verhoeven throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.
Leumpei is looking for a counter combo.
Leumpei moves into range and throws a combination. A nice jab followed by a hook to the body.
Verhoeven is starting to get sloppy and is letting his hands down. Leumpei just took advantage and landed a stinging jab. Oh! Now a right hook, right on the button! Verhoeven has gone limp and this one is over!
