Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Mirza Beg (ranked 5113 p4p, 424 weight class) and TwoPiece Soda (ranked 5672 p4p, 453 weight class). TwoPiece Soda has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Mirza Beg!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, TwoPiece Soda!
The judges for this bout are Saam Ante, Paulsen Ambrosius and Paul Aken.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Beg changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Soda looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better.

Soda throws Beg to one side and escapes!
Soda tries to clinch there but Beg circles away.

Soda manages to get an easy takedown there - catching Beg on his heels. He'll look to pass Beg's guard now, I'm sure.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Soda stays in close to Beg's body and controls the position.

Beg had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Soda defends it easily.
Beg working the defensive guard well to avoid strikes from Soda.
Beg looking to control the pace of the fight rather than finish it.
Soda is in close to Beg's body, working some short punches and elbows.

Soda is stalling in the full guard.
Beg definitely looks more muscular than last time we saw him fight.

Beg utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound.

Soda drops back, looking for a kneebar! Beg looks panicked! The fighters roll across the mat, one looking to finish, one looking to escape. Beg looks to have wriggled free... Yes, he's got his leg free and he's dived into side control! Good work there from Beg!

Soda tries to get back to half guard but can't.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Beg works to advance to full mount. Soda defends for a few seconds but eventually he succumbs.

Beg gets to his feet and calls his opponent to stand. Here come the fireworks!

Soda drops down and drives through with a powerful takedown into guard.
Beg keeping moving, preventing Soda from controlling successfully.
Beg looking to control the pace of the fight rather than finish it.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Soda wants to stand but Beg has a closed guard, so he can't escape.
Soda trying to control the position from guard on top but Beg is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.

Beg has his foot on Soda's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Soda works his way back into a safe position though.
Soda wants to get up but he can't break Beg's closed guard. He needs to be careful trying to break the legs open, as he's open to submissions here.

Beg wants to sweep here but Soda controlling him for the moment.
Beg really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.

Soda trying to control the position from guard on top but Beg is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.

Beg throws his legs up looking to secure a triangle. Oh, that looks pretty tight, I gotta say! Soda escapes and throws Beg's legs to the side, diving into side control!
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Soda grinds an elbow into Beg's temple.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
Beg manages to work his way to half guard, despite Soda's best efforts.

Soda is working for submissions here but there's nothing on.
Soda lands with an elbow from half guard - that looked like it hurt.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

A close round but TwoPiece Soda will probably get the nod.
That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business.


Soda lands a jab. Then a cross. Then finally a nice hook to the body. Good work there by Soda.

Soda bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control.
Soda works a knee to the body and follows up with a nice elbow to the head.
Soda tries to cartwheel into mount but he doesn't manage it.

Soda stands up.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Soda is looking for a kimura. He might have it! No, Beg has escaped the position, nice work there.
Soda working the head with strikes.
Soda looking to control but instead Beg has slipped a leg in, to regain half guard.
Beg tries to get to full guard but Soda has control of the leg.
Beg is not content to let Soda control the position.
Soda with a momentary lay and pray from half guard.
Beg gets back to full guard.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.

Beg is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent.

Beg tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Beg has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought!

The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action.
Soda is trying to improve his position.

Beg in side control, working for a kimura. He's got hold of an arm and he's torquing it... Soda is tapping! That's the end of the fight!
