Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Mickey Julyfeather (ranked 4689 p4p, 0 weight class) and Eriks Tregubs (ranked 24545 p4p, 0 weight class). These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Eriks Tregubs!
The judges for this bout are Chris Saunders, Micheangelo Fripello and Paul Gruel.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Julyfeather lands a two punch combo.
Tregubs closes this distance looking for a takedown but Julyfeather circles away.
Tregubs is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.
Tregubs moves out of range of the leg kick from Julyfeather.
Tregubs takes a shot to the nose. Hopefully that hasn't broken it.
Tregubs misses with a takedown attempt - Julyfeather sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses.

and Julyfeather counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head.
Mickey Julyfeather has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Eriks Tregubs.

Tregubs darts in looking for a takedown but Julyfeather gets double underhooks and turns Tregubs into the cage.

Julyfeather shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Tregubs as he jumps to the side.
Tregubs shoots for a double leg takedown but Julyfeather sprawls well. He's pushed Tregubs's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.
Tregubs displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from Julyfeather.

Julyfeather is looking for a takedown up against the cage. Tregubs gets underhooks though and prevents the takedown attempt.

Tregubs jumps guard but Julyfeather stands there with Tregubs around his waist. Tregubs gives up and drops back to his feet. We remain in the clinch.
Julyfeather scores with a shoulder strike.

Julyfeather decides to pull guard.
Julyfeather is pulling down on Tregubs's head to control his posture.
Julyfeather's ground tactics aren't going to win him many fans. Let's hope he's got fireworks for us if he gets back to his feet because he's not doing much on the ground.

Tregubs is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there.
Julyfeather wants to control here, rather than go for any submissions from the bottom. At least for now.

Tregubs trying to control the position from guard on top but Julyfeather is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
Julyfeather is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.

Julyfeather is looking for a triangle here but Tregubs uses the submission attempt to pass into side control.

And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action!


Tregubs has a takedown stuffed.

and Julyfeather counters with a nice jab to the body that keeps Tregubs thinking.
A nice combination there by Julyfeather.

Julyfeather lands a left and a right that send Tregubs crashing to the mat, dazed. Julyfeather thinks about following him to the mat but decides to wave him back up to his feet!

The crowd are loving this. Great action here.

Julyfeather takes the fight into the clinch.
Tregubs is still on wobbly legs! Can Julyfeather finish him?

Julyfeather manages to break the clinch.
Julyfeather connects with a left and a right that sees a clearly hurt Tregubs covering up! Julyfeather comes in with a big uppercut and Tregubs goes doooown! He's slumped up against the cage, eyes staring blankly into space.

Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:32 of round 2, we have a winner by way of KO (Strikes). Mickey Julyfeather!
