Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between speedy devil (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Shane Leksell (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). speedy devil has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 3 - 1, fighting out of New York, speedy devil!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

devil takes the fight into the clinch.
devil can't get the takedown.
devil prevents a takedown attempt there.
A battle for position here, against the ropes.
devil is struggling to control the position.

Leksell has clasped his hands together around devil's back... aaand, he's got a takedown into side control. Nicely done.
Leksell lands a knee to the body and follows it up with some ground and pound to the head. That will wear devil down.

Leksell thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead.
devil tries to control but Leksell manages to take his back.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.
devil wants to strike at distance but he can't break free of the clinch.

devil has dropped down and is working for a takedown. Leksell is trying to keep an underhook but devil manages to get the takedown into half guard.

devil escapes and gets back to his feet.

Leksell gets caught flat footed, as devil shoots in with a quick takedown into guard.

devil decides to stand up and beckons his opponent to follow.

devil rushes Leksell and pushes him back against the ropes in a clinch.

devil is working on a single leg takedown against the ropes. Leksell can't fight it off and eventually devil manages to take the fight to the floor. Leksell looks annoyed but at least he's managed to land in guard.
devil wants to stand but Leksell has a closed guard, so he can't escape.

devil gets to his feet and steps away from his opponent.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
devil plants his feet and lands a nice head kick!

devil clinches up with Leksell and pushes him back against the ropes.
devil lands a shoulder strike that jolts his opponent's head backwards.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.

devil closes the distance and pushes Leksell back into the ropes.
Leksell is trying to break the clinch but devil has him pressed against the ropes.
devil unloads a knee to the mid-section. Leksell lets out a prehistoric sounding urrrrgh.

devil pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.
Leksell shoots in but doesn't get the takedown
and devil makes him pay by landing a thudding low kick.
Leksell is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.
devil tries to close the distance and clinch up but Leksell swats him away and circles back towards the center.
devil throws a two punch combo that lands nicely.
devil throws a head kick that misses.

devil rushes Leksell and presses him up against the ropes.
Leksell is breathing heavily.
devil lands a damaging elbow.
devil lands a nice elbow.
devil drops down looking for an ankle pick but Leksell pulls his leg out and moves away.

devil feints and as Leksell raises his hands in defense, devil changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard.

devil swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.

devil closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard.
devil is pressing down on Leksell's thigh, looking to free his foot. Leksell is holding on for now.
devil wants to lay and pray for a moment but Leksell keeps working.
The fighters are trapped in the ropes so we're going to have a reposition here. The ref calls for a break and repositions the fighters in the center of the ring.
devil is really struggling to control Leksell but he's trying to hold on to the position.

devil tries to stand but his arm is trapped.
devil wants to lay and pray for a moment but Leksell keeps working.
The fighters are tangled up in the ropes here. We might need a restart if the fighters can't break free themselves.
devil works his foot free and advances to mount.
devil wants to control the pace but Leksell is squirming around nicely.

The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action.

The referee stands the fighters back up. speedy devil just wasn't active enough from the dominant position.

devil prevents a takedown attempt there.
The pace really dropping off here, momentarily.
devil wants a takedown.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action! This is the final round!

devil tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion.
devil shoots for a double leg takedown but Leksell sprawls well. He's pushed devil's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.

devil feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.

Leksell has momentary wrist control but devil slips an elbow through the middle.

Leksell is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle.
devil wants to control from the top but Leksell keeps moving.
devil wants to get up but he can't break Leksell's closed guard. He needs to be careful trying to break the legs open, as he's open to submissions here.
devil might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.

devil shoots in and bounces Leksell off the ropes to secure the takedown into guard.
devil lands a couple of decent looking shots.
devil postures up and lands some nice ground and pound.

devil gets to his feet - Leksell follows without any prompting.

devil tightens his grip and picks Leksell up, before dumping him to the ground. Leksell manages to land in guard.

devil is pausing for a moment. What's he doing? It looks like he's clearing his nose. Oh dude! He's shot a load of snot all down Leksell's shoulder. That is not cool.

devil decides to take the fight back to the feet.
Leksell stumbles momentarily as he takes a strong leg kick from devil.

speedy devil is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach.
devil seems content to maintain position for now, rather than mounting any offense.
