Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Cory Ashby (ranked 2643 p4p, 256 weight class) and Jake Demuss (ranked 3258 p4p, 297 weight class). Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 4 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Cory Ashby!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Jake Demuss!
The judges for this bout are Emerson Jorge, Mauricio Rocha and Matheus Silva.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Demuss throws a jab to the body, straight down the pipe. Boom. That sent Ashby stumbling backwards but he manages to regain his composure quickly.
Ashby blocks a head kick by Demuss.
Demuss fakes a jab and then connects with a hook.
Demuss connects with a high kick.
Ashby really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.
Demuss scores with a nice one two combo and darts back out of range to avoid anything coming in the opposite direction.
Ashby tries to score a power double leg takedown but Demuss sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Ashby somewhat.
Ashby is breathing heavily.
Ashby fails with an attempt to clinch.
Ashby throws a left and a right that both miss

and Demuss counters with a nice double leg into guard.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Demuss pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Ashby is keeping the position for now.
Demuss in full guard, throwing the ground and pound. No damage this time.
Demuss scoring with punches to the head and body.
Demuss throwing strikes from guard but Ashby blocks nicely.
Demuss wants to control from the top but Ashby keeps moving.

A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Demuss accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.

Demuss gets to his feet. Ashby looking to butt scoot but the ref puts an end to that. On your feet son!
Demuss lands an overhand left. A wild punch that just about connected.

Demuss shoots in and gets a takedown into half guard. Demuss showed some decent athleticism there.
Demuss keeping composed on the top, looking to control the action.
It looks like Demuss might be adopting somewhat of a lay and pray gameplan here, which I'm sure won't go down too well with the paying fans in attendance... Or the ring announcers come to think of it.
Ashby looks to be in better condition than last time we saw him fight. Obviously he's been working hard on his cardio.
Demuss not throwing his punches with enough precision this time.

Demuss tries to pass to full mount but Ashby defends it.
Demuss has freed up his trapped foot and advances to mount.

Demuss throwing sloppy strikes here. Perhaps if he tightened up his striking from such a dominant position, he'd be able to finish easier.
Ashby wriggling around on the bottom manages to avoid the strikes thrown by Demuss.
Demuss has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.

My spies in Death Valley Training Facility inform me that Demuss has been getting involved in the gym's BJJ sparring sessions. Let's see whether that pays dividends!
