The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Lucas lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Butt circles away quickly and effectively.
Butt shoots for a double leg takedown but Lucas sprawls well. He's pushed Butt's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.
Butt throws a head kick that misses.
Nice jab there from Lucas.
Lucas displays some good footwork, moving neatly out of range as Butt throws out the jab.
Lucas is looking to clinch.
Lucas misses with a straight left.
Butt throws a series of punches but Lucas moves out of range.
Lucas lands a jab followed by a vicious hook that sends Butt sprawling to the canvas. Lucas follows him down, looking for the kill. Can Butt hang on?

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
This has been an exciting period of action!
The referee walks around the fighters to get a better view of the action. Lucas lands a nice short elbow.
Oh Butt is still in real trouble! Will he be able to recover?!!
Lucas lands a massive shot from half guard that has rocked Butt! More strikes land and this one is all over! Lucas jumps to his feet and is applauded loudly by the crowd!
