Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the super heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

and James counters with a left and a right that hurts Ping! He wobbles and falls to the floor - he's in big trouble! James jumps into full mount!
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
James looking to control but Ping is working nicely, looking to advance position himself.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

Still in the clinch, Ping scores with a nice short uppercut.

Ping manages to break the clinch.
Ping misses with a low kick.
Ping throws a low kick, looking for James's leg but James calmly moves out of range.
Ping lets the fists fly and connects with a left straight followed by a right hook.
Ping lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but James circles away quickly and effectively.

Some wild striking there from Ping.
Ping lands a jab. Then a cross. Then finally a nice hook to the body. Good work there by Ping.

Ping lands a vicious shot with the stealth of a sniper and the strength of a viper. Are vipers that strong? I can think of lots of things that are stronger than a viper - not many rhyme with sniper though.
James is pinned up against the ropes taking some big shots here. The referee is looking closely deciding whether he should stop the fight.

James drops his hands momentarily and Ping takes advantage with a crisp shot to the head.
Ping is using his height advantage well here, landing a good percentage of his punches.

That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.


Ping stooping low to avoid any incoming strikes and then lunges in with an uppercut come cross that lands flush.

James scores with a nice takedown into half guard. Let's see what he's got on the ground.
The fighters are tangled up in the ropes here. We might need a restart if the fighters can't break free themselves.

James really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Ping. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

James is keen to just control but Ping is a slippery customer.

A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.

Ping working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. James doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. James manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.
The fighters are trapped in the ropes so we're going to have a reposition here. The ref calls for a break and repositions the fighters in the center of the ring.
Ping doesn't do any damage with a couple of strikes from the bottom.

The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up.

and Ping counters with a nice single leg takedown and he's in James's guard now.

Ping postures up and lands a big shot to James's brow.
Ping is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that James can do to turn this around?
