Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 3 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Hakim Rubson!
The judges for this bout are Winston Alpacca, Daniel Franklin and Michael Johnstone.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Rubson moves into range and clinches up with Richardson .
We've been informed that Rubson has been sparring a lot of Muay Thai in the buildup to this fight so let's see if that has an impact on the result.
Rubson content to slow the pace in the clinch.

Richardson gets a nice trip takedown into half guard.

Rubson manages to create a bit of space in order to work his way back to his feet. Richardson keeps hold of his opponent and drives him back against the cage.
Rubson misses with a knee to the head.
Richardson is trying to work for a single leg takedown but Rubson pulls him back up using the underhooks.

Richardson is thinking about going for an arm triangle but he can't free his leg.
Neither fighter is being very active at the moment, with Richardson in particular looking to stall.

Richardson seems to have a rather negative gameplan on the ground. He seems keen to just score the takedown and hold down Rubson for as long as he can get away with.

Richardson is looking to finish here, going for an Americana. Rubson knows the correct defense though, so he's OK.

Richardson tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Richardson has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought!

Richardson has improved his flexibility recently so we will have to see if he can use that to his advantage.

The referee has decided to stand the fighters back up, so we'll restart on the feet.

Rubson takes a solid shot to the body. That one hurt him but he's trying not to show it.
Moe Richardson is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.

Richardson feints and as Rubson raises his hands in defense, Richardson changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard.
Richardson lands a couple of digs.
Richardson slips effortlessly into side control - very nice.
Rubson really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Richardson . If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

Richardson takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though.
Richardson has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.

Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!
