Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Seung Kwan Choi (ranked 4015 p4p, 0 weight class) and Aslan Akishev (ranked 3228 p4p, 350 weight class). I can't wait for this one - let's get the fighter introductions out of the way and get this one started!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 7 - 5 - 0, fighting out of New York, Seung Kwan Choi!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 9 - 8 - 0, fighting out of New York, Aslan Akishev!
The judges for this bout are William Peck, Dillan Fox and Elvis Blanc.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Choi gets a clinch.
Akishev is trying to work out of this bad position, with his back against the cage.
Akishev tries to circle away but Choi has him pinned against the cage.
Choi working some nice short punches in the clinch.

Choi manages to break the clinch.

Choi rushes Akishev and presses him up against the cage.

Choi escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Akishev slips a jab from Choi.
Akishev misses with a head kick.

Choi pushes Akishev up against the cage in a clinch.
A head punch on the inside from Choi fails to land.
Choi pushes off and fires off an elbow that misses, before clinching up again, against the cage.
Choi swings away with an uppercut that misses.

Akishev pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.

Akishev gets tackled into the cage by Choi. Choi maintains the clinch.
Akishev looks like he'd prefer to be striking at range right now.

Choi's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.

Choi forces Akishev back against the cage and clinches.

Akishev moves in looking to clinch but Choi pushes him off.

Akishev dodges an elbow strike from Choi.
Akishev doesn't land with the attempted body shot.
Akishev wants to push off and get back to the center of the mat but Choi has him pressed against the cage.

Choi pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.
Akishev tries to clinch but Choi is having none of it.
Choi misses with the combination.
Choi throws out a powerful jab.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Choi throws a series of punches but Akishev avoids them all with ease.
The fight stays on the outside here - Akishev looks like he's thinking about clinching though.

Akishev fakes a couple of low kicks, before throwing one on the third attempt. It connects and Choi has to reset his feet before getting ready to engage.
Choi misses with a hook.
Choi tries to close the distance and clinch up but Akishev swats him away and circles back towards the center.

Choi misses with a knee strike.
A battle for position here, against the cage.
An uppercut on the inside fails to land for Akishev.
Choi throws an elbow but it misses.
Akishev tries to break the clinch but Choi is controlling the position.
Choi misses with a short punch on the inside.

Choi's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.
Choi wants to clinch up but Akishev keeps it at a distance.

Choi connects with a good right hand that stumbles Akishev. Akishev circles away out of range and recomposes himself.
That's a knee to de groin and it's over and out! Choi crumples to the ground after an illegal strike from Akishev - the referee stops the clock and Choi gets 5 minutes to recover from that one. "I'm sorry" says Akishev. Choi manages to get back to his feet and the fight resumes.
Wow, both these guys are really going for it!

Choi closes the distance and pushes Akishev back into the cage.
Choi lands with a short head shot on the inside.

Choi breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Akishev throws a feint and then finishes with a kick to the body.
Choi is breathing heavily.
Choi on the receiving end of a decent leg kick there by Akishev. Akishev obviously looking to wear him down.

Akishev has taken the fight to the clinch.
Choi throws a nice elbow but it doesn't land.
Choi misses with a knee strike.
Akishev taking a breather.
Choi tries a shoulder strike but it doesn't do any damage.
Akishev looks like he'd prefer to be striking at range right now.

Akishev manages to break the clinch.
Choi moves in looking to clinch but Akishev pushes him off.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.

Akishev lands a big head kick that sends Choi tumbling to the mat! Akishev takes a step backwards and waves Choi back to his feet - he wants the finish!
Choi takes a thudding leg kick, right into the meat of the thigh.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Choi will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.
Nice jab there from Choi.
An inside leg kick lands from Akishev.
Akishev tries to clinch but Choi moves out of range.
Akishev throws a sloppy head kick and Choi moves out of range easily.
Choi thuds his right hand into Akishev's forehead from close range. That could be painful for both fighters.

Akishev clinches.
Akishev landing some nice looking knees to the body.
Choi blocks a couple of punches on the inside.

Choi manages to break the clinch.
The fight stays on the outside here - Akishev looks like he's thinking about clinching though.
Akishev ducks under a wild hook from Choi.
Choi blocks a head kick by Akishev.
The crowd applaud the fighters' efforts here as the round comes to an end.
Choi throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.

Akishev closes the distance and clinches.
Choi pushes off and fires off an elbow that misses, before clinching up again, against the cage.
A head punch on the inside from Choi fails to land.
Choi has Akishev pressed against the cage, preventing Akishev from circling away and getting back to striking at range.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Seung Kwan Choi dominated that round.
The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action!


Akishev is looking to clinch but Choi is avoiding it.
Akishev throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.
Choi is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Akishev can do to turn this around?
That kick from Akishev tenderised Choi's leg. Choi is trying to keep his angry face on.
Choi wants to clinch up but Akishev keeps it at a distance.

Akishev tries to clinch up but Choi circles away and keeps his distance.
Choi lands a two punch combo.

Oooooh!!! Choi has knocked Akishev down with a huge combo! Choi steps away and waves a wobbly Akishev back to his feet! This one might not go much longer!


Akishev is rocked!
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Choi avoids the head kick by Akishev.
Akishev is still on wobbly legs! Can Choi finish him?
Choi drops a shoulder and throws an uppercut that cracks Akishev right on the button. Akishev goes down! Choi follows him to the mat and finishes the job with more strikes! Choi gets the win via TKO!
