Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Stingy Butter (ranked 4495 p4p, 434 weight class) and Arturo Gallo (ranked 3499 p4p, 0 weight class). Arturo Gallo is the more experienced fighter, so let's see if that makes a difference tonight.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Sloppy strikes from Gallo. Those never looked like landing.
Butter misses with the combination.
Gallo tries a counter takedown but it's more of a dummy move, and he uses it to push himself away.
Butter looks to score with a jab to the body but Gallo is just out of range.
Butter shoots for a takedown but Gallo saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily.
Gallo is trying to avoid his opponent's strikes and get into the clinch.

Gallo decides to change it up a bit and drives through with a nice takedown into half guard.

Butter has one foot on Gallo's thigh - he pushes off and manages to get back to his feet.

Gallo throws a loose over hand right and dives in with a double leg takedown. Butter tries to sprawl but it's too late and the fighters hit the mat. Gallo is in Butter's guard.

Butter has scooted to the edge of the canvas and used the cage to get back to his feet. Gallo has stuck on his opponent and is forcing him back against the cage.
Gallo throws an elbow but it misses.
Butter drops to a knee looking for a takedown but Gallo gets the underhooks and prevents it.
Butter has dropped down and is looking to force the takedown but it's defended by Gallo after a bit of a struggle.

Gallo tightens his grip and picks Butter up, before dumping him to the ground. Butter manages to land in guard.

Butter is scooting his butt against the cage and has managed to get back to his feet. Gallo presses him back against the cage, presumably looking to take the fight back to the mat.

Butter tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Butter has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought!

Butter is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but Gallo is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now.

The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up. He just wasn't happy with the level of activity.

The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action! This is the final round!

Butter throws a push kick but Gallo slaps the foot to one side.
Butter shoots in for a takedown but Gallo shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet.
Gallo is clearly looking to counter with head kicks.

A momentary lapse in concentration from Butter enables Gallo to shoot in and score with a neat double leg. Butter manages to secure a closed guard as the fighters hit the mat.

Gallo slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up.

Butter avoids the clinch attempt nicely.

Gallo decides to change it up a bit and drives through with a nice takedown into half guard.

Butter kicks Gallo off and gets back to his feet.

Gallo feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Gallo stands up and waves to Butter to follow him.

Gallo is definitely looking for the counter takedowns here.
Both fighters are breathing heavily.
Butter tries to drive through with a takedown attempt but Gallo defends well and Butter ends up having to push Gallo into the cage where they will battle it out in the clinch.
