And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 6 - 0, fighting out of New York, Edgardo Flores!
The judges for this bout are Elvis Blanc, William Peck and Steve Smith.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Eight blocks a head kick by Flores.

Eight shoots in looking for a single leg takedown. Flores is trying to defend but Eight finishes it well and ends up in half guard. Let's see if he can advance position further.

Flores has managed to escape just enough to sneak back to his feet but Eight is on him like a limpet, forcing Flores back against the cage.

Eight has hold of one of Flores's legs. Flores is fighting the takedown attempt but Eight gets the trip and lands the takedown into guard.

Flores has butterfly guard. He's looking to stand up here. He pushes Eight off him and springs to his feet nicely. The crowd applauds.

Flores pulls out of a head kick attempt.

Flores looks like he'd prefer to be striking at range right now.
Eight tries to jump guard but he falls flat on his backside. Flores smiles and moves away.
Flores misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.

Flores throws a head kick that lands with a deafening thwack! The crowd roars as Eight stumbles backwards and falls to the mat. Flores follows into mount!

Eight is rocked!

It looks like Twenty Eight has been cut.

That's one minute gone in the round.

Flores stands up from the dominant position. He obviously fancies his chances standing.
Oh Eight is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!
I'm just looking down at my notes here and I see that.... oh! Flores has cracked Eight with a big right, followed by a left! He's out on his feet! Flores lands another huge swinging hook and Eight tumbles to the canvas! The ref dives in to save Eight, before Flores can land any more shots!
