Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Twenty Nine (ranked 4497 p4p, 0 weight class) and Silver Fox (ranked 5369 p4p, 0 weight class). Silver Fox is the more experienced fighter, so let's see if that makes a difference tonight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Twenty Nine!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Silver Fox!
The judges for this bout are Gregory Folan, Ian Loll and Steve Smith.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Fox closes this distance looking for a takedown but Nine circles away.
Nine defends well against a solid takedown attempt from Fox.
Fox tries for a takedown but Nine sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily.
Twenty Nine has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Silver Fox.
Fox darts in looking for a takedown but Nine gets double underhooks and turns Fox into the cage.
Nine shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Fox but Fox pushes him off and we're back to square one.
Nine throws a left and a right that both miss
and Fox counters with a nice uppercut.
Fox fails with a takedown attempt.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Nine closes the distance and clinches up with Fox, looking for a takedown. Nine pushes Fox against the cage but Fox circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.

Nine has closed the distance and engaged Fox in a clinch.
Fox is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.
Fox keeps control of Nine as he tries to wriggle out of the double underhooks.
Nine goes for a takedown in the clinch but Fox prevents it.
Nine wants to take the fight to the mat but Fox manages to get underhooks and keep the fight in the clinch.

Nine wants to break free. God knows he wants to breaaaak freeee.
Fox lands a body shot.

Fox pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.
Fox dives in for a single leg takedown but Nine sprawls and the fighters end up clinched against the cage.
Nine went nuts there looking for a big combo counter but none of the flurry connected.

Nine closes the distance and pushes Fox back into the cage.
Nine trying to stall but Fox improves his position.
A nice right hand lands inside from Fox.

Fox breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.
Nine fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Fox manages to avoid it.
Fox dives in for a single leg takedown but Nine sprawls and the fighters end up clinched against the cage.

Nine moves into range and clinches up with Fox.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Nine looks like he'd prefer to be striking at range right now.
Nine is looking for a takedown.
A hook to the body from Fox.
Nine has had enough of the clinch but Fox keeps him there for the moment.
Fox lands with a left to the head.
Fox has Nine pressed against the cage, preventing Nine from circling away and getting back to striking at range.
Nine jumps guard but his hands slip and he falls flat on his back. Well, he's made himself look a right mug there, as Fox walks away with a smile on his face. Nine gets slowly back to his feet and shakes his head.
Nine tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Fox was well out of range. Poor timing from Nine.
Fox fails with a takedown attempt.
Fox misses with a takedown attempt - Nine sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Fox avoids a lazy jab quite easily.

Nine closes the distance and clinches.

Fox pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.

Nine moves into the clinch successfully.
Fox lands with a short punch from the clinch.
Nine wants to stall.
Nine drops down looking for an ankle pick but Fox pulls his leg out and moves away.

Fox shoots in for a takedown from distance. He catches Nine napping and manages to drive through into side control!
Fox in side control, throwing shots but Nine defends.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Nine tries to work a leg under to get back to half guard but Fox wriggles his own leg back out and remains in side control.
Nine is working hard here to advance position.
Nine can't do much from the bottom here.
Nine strikes from the bottom but Fox takes advantage and advances to full mount!
Fox content just to control the position here.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Nine tries to reverse the position but Fox maintains control.

Fox working for a submission but Nine is keeping him at bay.

Fox stands up from the dominant position, so we're back on the feet.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

A close round but Silver Fox will probably get the nod.
That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business.


Nine fails with the takedown
and Fox counters with a lovely shot to the body.
Fox tries to score a power double leg takedown but Nine sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Fox somewhat.
Nine appears to be looking for a counter takedown.
Nine misses with a double jab.
A big left from Nine misses.
Fox tries to drive through with a takedown attempt but Nine defends well and Fox ends up having to push Nine into the cage where they will battle it out in the clinch.
Fox shoots for a double leg takedown but Nine sprawls well. He's pushed Fox's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.
Twenty Nine has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Silver Fox.

The fighters are going at a pretty good pace and they're both starting to sweat now.
Nine moves into the clinch.

Nice sprawl there from Nine as Fox shoots in.
Nine appears to be looking for a big counter.
Nine darts in looking for a takedown but Fox gets double underhooks and turns Nine into the cage.
Fox shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Nine sprawls well. Nine wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Fox gets slowly back to his feet.
Nine tries to counter with a takedown but Fox is quick to defend against it.

Nine is looking to control Fox's arms but Fox gets an underhook and turns him. Now Nine has his back to the cage.
Fox scores with a shot to the side of Nine's head.
Fox makes some space for himself and lands an uppercut.
Nine misses the knee to the body. Nice hip positioning from Fox.
Nine is struggling to control the position.

Fox pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.
Fox fails with a takedown attempt.
Nine has his takedown stuffed
and Fox counters with a straight right hand.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Fox shoots in looking for a takedown. Nine tries to sprawl out of it but Fox keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Nine manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.
Fox shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it.
Twenty Nine is winning the standup battle so far.

Nine clinches with his opponent.
Fox lands a left hand that snaps the head of Nine backwards.
Nine wants to push off and get back to the center of the mat but Fox has him pressed against the cage.
Fox gets through Nine's defenses to land a nice punch to the side of the head.

Fox breaks from the clinch.

Nine closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth.
Nine tries to get to his feet but he's trapped momentarily.
Fox regains half guard.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Fox is pressing down on Nine's left leg trying to get back to full guard. He's managed it.
Nine wants to control from the top but Fox keeps moving.
Fox managing to control the position.
Nine trying to control but Fox is working from the bottom.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.

Nine got a little sloppy there for a moment and Fox has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Nine has managed to get both his arms back between Fox's legs - danger averted.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That was a close second round but I would say that Twenty Nine will probably get the nod.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action. And we move into the final round!

It looks like Twenty Nine has been cut.
Fox shoots for a takedown but Nine saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily.
Silver Fox seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Fox closes the distance and clinches up with Nine, looking for a takedown. Fox pushes Nine against the cage but Nine circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.
Nine throws a right hand that misses
and Fox connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle.
Fox blocks a head kick by Nine.
Fox misses with a takedown attempt - Nine sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses.
Nine is looking for a counter combo.
Twenty Nine has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Silver Fox.

and Fox counters with a straight right hand.
Fox shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it.
Fox just manages to avoid a counter high kick fromNine.

Nine lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Fox circles away quickly and effectively.
Fox takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired.

Fox gets through Nine's defenses to land a nice punch to the side of the head.

Fox lands with a light punch inside.
Nine stalls.
Fox makes some space for himself and lands an uppercut.
Nine goes for a body shot but it's blocked.
Fox keeps the fight in the clinch, despite Nine's efforts to push away.
Silver Fox seems to be working more effectively in the clinch in the fight so far.
Fox lands with a left to the head.
Nine is trying to pull guard but Fox turns him against the cage and we stay in the clinch.
Nine has had enough of the clinch but Fox keeps him there for the moment.
Fox softening up his opponent with strikes, against the cage.

Nine drops down for a takedown but doesn't get it.
Nine tries to pull guard but Fox won't allow it.
Nine is trying to work out of this bad position, with his back against the cage.

Fox's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.
Nine slaps away a takedown attempt from Fox, before circling back to the center of the mat.

Fox dives in and scores a takedown into Nine's guard.
Nine is trying to control the position from the bottom.
Fox controlling from the top position.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Nine looking to control but Fox passes into half guard.

Fox is looking for an arm triangle, whilst trying to pass to side control. Nine doesn't seem that keen to cooperate though. No luck this time Fox.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Fox tries to stand but his hand is stuck under Nine.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.
Nine wants to control but Fox is keeping busy and won't allow it.
Nine slips a foot under and gets full guard. Nice work.
Fox has decided he wants to stand but the closed guard of Nine is proving hard to escape from.
Fox slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.

The referee has stepped in and called for a break in the action. We'll restart on the feet.

And that's the end of the fight!
Silver Fox comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
I think Fox has won this one but let's see whether the judges agree with me. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
