PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Albert Lawrence (ranked 3248 p4p, 333 weight class) and Macimus Perfecticus (ranked 4656 p4p, 406 weight class). These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Lawrence tries to clinch up but Perfecticus circles away and keeps his distance.
Perfecticus fails with a takedown attempt from distance.
Lawrence looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Perfecticus is fending him off so far but Lawrence persists. Nope, Perfecticus circles away and we're back to standing.

Lawrence fakes low and throws an overhand right that catches Perfecticus on the side of the head.
Perfecticus shoots in looking for a takedown. Lawrence tries to sprawl out of it but Perfecticus keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Lawrence manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.

Horrible takedown attempt by Perfecticus or perhaps it was just good defense by Lawrence, which made it look bad.
Perfecticus shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Lawrence pinned against the cage. Lawrence gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.
Perfecticus chopped to the floor by a nice leg kick but he springs right back up before Lawrence can pounce on him.

Perfecticus changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Lawrence tries to avoid it but Perfecticus manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Lawrence to the ground. Lawrence escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.

That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to Albert Lawrence.
