Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Myles Brady (ranked 1927 p4p, 203 weight class) and Rex Gunn (ranked 1932 p4p, 205 weight class). Brady comes to the cage accompanied by Aaron Lewis - Country Boy. Myles Brady has the edge in experience - let's see if he can make that count tonight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 5 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 6 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Myles Brady!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 3 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Rex Gunn!
The judges for this bout are Robert Twigg, Tiny Johnson and Frank Dennis.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Gunn rushes Brady and pushes him back against the cage in a clinch.
A nice right hand lands inside from Gunn.
Gunn lands a left hand.
Gunn works on Brady's body with a couple of short punches.
Gunn tries a shoulder strike but it doesn't do any damage.

Brady has moved round to his opponent's back and is looking for a suplex! Oh snap! He's tossed Gunn clear over his head and slammed him to the mat!
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
You can see the frustration on Gunn's face… He knows he is in trouble unless he improves his position sooner rather than later.
Good control from Brady.
Brady gets his hands free as Gunn looks to control.
Gunn felt the need to train up his defensive grappling in the buildup to the fight. Presumably he was expecting to be in a difficult position like this, so let's see if he can get out of it.

I really don't envy Gunn right now.

Gunn slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up.
Gunn wants to control from the top but Brady keeps moving.

Gunn drops back, looking for a kneebar! Brady looks panicked! The fighters roll across the mat, one looking to finish, one looking to escape. Brady looks to have wriggled free... Yes, he's got his leg free and he's dived into side control! Good work there from Brady!

Gunn gets back to half guard.
Brady working over Gunn with some ground and pound. Gunn looks like he wants out of this position, which is understandable.

Brady is intent on slowing down the pace of the fight, simply looking to control.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.
Brady is working Gunn over from the guard. He should look to pass the guard and do a little more damage with these strikes.
Brady is taking a break and basically stalling. The referee will not allow him to do that for long.

Brady has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player.

The referee wants the fighters to be more active or he's going to reset them on the feet.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That was a close round but I would say that Myles Brady will probably get the nod.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.


Brady throws a series of punches but Gunn moves out of range.

Gunn has taken the fight to the clinch.
Gunn tried to land a shot to the body but connects with Brady's elbow.
Gunn lands an uppercut.
Gunn lands a hook to the body. It's hard to tell if that hurt Brady or not.
Gunn throws a hook to the body. More of an arm punch but it's all scoring with the judges.
Brady changes levels and goes for a takedown here. Gunn fights it off and pushes away nicely.
Gunn lands a straight punch to the body, keeping Brady at a distance.
Gunn comes forward and lands a shot to the body, then darts back out of range.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Gunn cracks Brady with an open hand slap.
Gunn wings a very wild body shot but it does the job and lands to the midsection.
Gunn darts in and out, connecting with a jab.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Gunn uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Brady.
Brady takes a body punch but keeps moving.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
Gunn scores with a sloppy punch to the body. Not much technique there but it did the business.

Brady takes one on the button.


Brady is rocked!
Rex Gunn is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
Brady tries to bum rush Gunn with a series of wild strikes but Gunn uses good footwork to avoid the assault.

Gunn closes the distance and clinches.
Gunn goes for a body shot but it's blocked.
Gunn lands with a short punch from the clinch.
Oh Brady is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!

Gunn lands punches inside but they're not really causing much damage.
Gunn lands a nice shot to the body.
Gunn lands a left hand.
Brady has a body lock and is looking for a takedown. Gunn is bouncing around trying to prevent the takedown and somehow he has indeed managed to stay on his feet.
Gunn swings wildly with an uppercut but Brady uses good head movement to avoid it.
Gunn has been the more effective fighter overall so far.
A head punch blocked on the inside by Brady.
Gunn throws a blind hook that connects with the side of Bradys head.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Nice body punch from Gunn - that landed with a thud.
Gunn creates a bit of space for himself and rocks Brady with a big uppercut! Brady tries to clinch up but Gunn pushes him back against the cage and lands another monster strike that crumples Brady to the mat! Brady covers up and Gunn unloads with more strikes until the referee steps in to end the bout!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:56 of round 2, we have a winner by way of TKO (Punches). Rex Gunn!
