Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

The judges for this bout are David Hoff, Dirk Anderson and Peter Branson.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Yates looks for the body kick but Silva saw that one coming.
A slapping leg kick lands for Yates.
Silva has been spending a lot of time sparring his boxing in the run up to the fight, trying to sharpen up those hands and look for a knockout.
Silva shakes his hands off, looking to compose himself, but takes a jab to the jaw whilst he does it.
Yates swings and misses with a hook to the body.
Silva slips a jab from Yates.
Silva fails miserably with a takedown attempt.
Yates misses with a leg kick
and Silva decides to take the opportunity to score a takedown. He's landed in Yates's guard.
Silva drops back for a leg but he's not going to get it - he lets go and Yates dives on top into guard.
Silva has his foot on Yates's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Yates works his way back into a safe position though.
Silva has an omoplata and is looking to use it perhaps as a submission or perhaps to transition. Yates is in a bit of discomfort here, but he's managed to free himself and has dived into side control! That didn't work out too well for Silva.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Silva tries to bench press Yates off him but Yates keeps the position.
Silva gets one leg under and gets the fight to half guard.

Yates content to sit in half guard and control for a moment.
It looks like Yates is going to stand back up.
The ref stands the fighters back up due to a lack of activity.
Yates jabs Silva to the body, keeping him at a distance.
Yates scores with a nice right hand.
Yates drops Silva with a beautiful combination! Silva stares up at his opponent, who ushers him back to his feet - Yates is looking for the KO!
Silva is rocked!
It looks like Bruno Silva has been cut.
Yates fakes the leg kick and cracks Silva in the body.
Silva is still on wobbly legs! Can Yates finish him?
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Silva moves out of range of the body kick from Yates.
Silva feints the counter takedown.
Silva seems to have recovered his senses.
Yates scores with a jab to the jaw.
Yates scores with a punch to the head.
Yates lands a body shot.
Yates fakes with a right hand and throws a good leg kick, right into the thigh. That had to hurt Silva.

Yates lands with a kick to the ribs.
Yates uses good footwork to get in and out and land a nice right hand before Silva has time to react.
A kick lands to the mid section there for Yates.
Yates throws a feint and then finishes with a kick to the body.
A jab lands there for Yates.
Yates pushes Silva away with a front kick.
Jimmy Yates is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
Silva on the receiving end of a decent leg kick there by Yates. Yates obviously looking to wear him down.
A thudding body kick lands there by Yates!
Thud! ouch! good body kick from Yates - that will leave a mark!
Good leg kick by Yates there. It's the ones that make that thud noise that hurt and that was an almighty thud.
Yates swings wildly with a hook that is half blocked by Silva.
Yates drops Silva with a hook right on the temple. He thinks about going to the ground but Silva looks back up at him and smiles so Yates waves him back to his feet - he obviously thinks he can knock him out after that shot landed.
Yates throws a mid kick that lands with a slap.
A looping hook to the body misses from Yates. Silva does a little dance to reset his feet.
and Yates counters with a massive uppercut that badly hurts Silva! He's just covering up as Yates starts to tee off till the referee steps in and stops the fight!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:57 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Jimmy Yates!
